Black Eye Games has announced some new information about the current transition of the MMORPG Gloria Victis to the Unity 5 engine and the territorial wars.
The transition to Unity 5 is nearly complete. The developers of Gloria Victis are excited that they have been able to increase the game’s performance by about 50%. The new effects, such as the improved lighting system and updated textures, will make the game shine in a new light. More effects will be added soon.
The development team is also very proud of the territorial wars system of the MMORPG. This allows players to fight for strategically important points in the land. Teamplay and mastery of combat skills are essential. Black Eye Games explains the system using an example. Various factions govern the world. For example, if you want to gain the favor of the Brotherhood of Lord’s Wrath, you must first prove that you can coordinate a team well. In a small group, you complete several smaller tasks for the Brotherhood. If they are satisfied with your performance, they will accept you, which grants you access to training facilities and the fortress.
However, the Brotherhood of Lord’s Wrath only accepts Midlanders and Ismirs. Their sworn enemies are the Azebs. This means that the Brotherhood and the Azebs frequently clash. Each faction tries to capture and hold various control points in the land. If you belong to one of the factions, you participate in these large PvP battles and fight for control of areas.
Additionally, the developers are currently working on an optional first-person view and the crafting system of Gloria Victis is being revamped for better clarity. Gradually, the MMORPG is taking on more concrete shapes. Gloria Victis is still in a pre-alpha stage, which can be accessed by purchasing founder packages. A beta might start later this year. We have already introduced it among the most promising indie MMORPGs that will be released in the foreseeable future.
