In multiplayer shooters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, unfortunately, cheaters regularly wreak havoc. A new glitch could now become a real problem for MW: players are cheating under the map. A Twitch streamer, who becomes a victim of a player under the map, escalates.
What kind of glitch is this? Apparently, there are players who have figured out how to leave the usual map area to stay under or beside the map.
Cheaters can then shoot at other players and deal damage. Often, you can’t even see where the shots are coming from.
Cheaters are slowly becoming a problem
Why could this become a problem for Modern Warfare? If the method becomes widely known, matches with such cheaters are hardly playable.
So far, hardly anyone knows how the glitch works. As long as that remains the case, very few players will actually be affected.
The more unfair, small cheaters learn how the trick works, the greater the impact on the game and thus the problem for the developers.
What does it look like? The Twitch streamer “aimbotcalvin” was taken out by such a cheater during a round of Ground War on the map “Port of Verdansk”.
Just when he was caught, he could hardly believe it and wondered where the opponent could have been. When he then saw his killcam, he could hardly contain his anger.
The opponent was under the map and “aimbotcalvin” was easy prey for the cheater. The streamer had absolutely no chance to react and can hardly get a grip on himself.
Out-of-map kills cause frustration in CoD Modern Warfare
Have there been more sightings? Slowly but surely, more posts about “out of map” glitches are appearing on Reddit. Especially on the small, new map Shipment, there are several videos where cheaters are messing around under or beside the map.
Sometimes, the sneaky glitchers simply sit behind a wall and wait for their unsuspecting victims. Modern Warfare is one of the games that positively surprised us in 2019, but such things should quickly disappear from the shooter.
Developers will react, but when?
Are the developers doing anything about this? It is to be expected that Infinity Ward will respond, particularly if the problem escalates and more players are affected by the dirty tactics.
So far, however, there has been no official statement on the subject, nor on the deadly bush that is currently racking up killstreaks in the Battle Ground mode.
So it remains to be seen how the developers will proceed. Until then, you might want to avoid the dangerous modes and have a little snowball fight.
