A player is experimenting in Destiny 2 in preparation for Beyond Light, discovering a new mechanic and a buff through a glitch. Some believe that a raid was spoiled here.
This was found: A player recently discovered an entirely new mechanic in Destiny 2. On Raidsecrets, Reddit user CommanderTriss shared how he stumbled upon something unusual during his experiments, which he suspects originates from the upcoming DLC Beyond Light :
- A glowing ball follows him magnetically – he can navigate the so-called Warmind cell across the map, but he must not exceed a distance of 5 meters
- Additionally, he discovered a new buff: “Relic incoming” (incoming relic)
It is likely a glitch, as all components have been in the game for a long time, but behave in a completely new manner. However, the new mechanic can be reproduced, and CommanderTriss has recorded the unusual behavior on video:
What was he experimenting with? The Warmind cells are actually a mechanic that has been in the game since Season 10, i.e., spring 2020. In this, the player summons the red spheres, which in the video follow the Guardian like a loyal puppy.
The cells usually remain on the ground and explode to deal damage to enemies. Alternatively, players can pick them up and use them as projectiles. That the cells follow a player and announce this behavior even with a buff is new. The discoverer also states that this did not occur in his similar tests during Season 10.
Is this a secret raid mechanic from Beyond Light?
This might be what it’s about: The name of the buff may provide a clue. Because relics are well-known among Destiny players. Players frequently encounter these relics in endgame content, such as raids or dungeons, but they are also appearing ever more frequently in seasonal activities.
Relics are the general term for portable objects that players can interact with and solve puzzles:
- Such a relic can then be carried from A to B or serve as a key
- Relics can shoot lasers, revealing boss weak points – as seen with Argos on the Leviathan
- In the “Garden of Salvation” raid, players connect through relics and transfer energy
- In raids, there is often a “relic bearer” during many phases – this is the Guardian who does not shoot but carries the important item for the mechanics
This is what the community says about it: Guardians are pondering this on Reddit:
- Did a glitch spoil a secret mechanic from the new raid of Beyond Light? It would be conceivable for such a ball to navigate through a labyrinth – just not a Warmind cell like in the glitch, but a relic.
- Some believe that such a mechanic could not only be used in the new raid but generally on Europa.
- Others argue that it is probably just an unusual glitch that has nothing to do with Beyond Light. After all, why would files from the DLC be in the game before November 10?
- Although here, some users say it is normal for lines of code to “slip through” and also point out that this mechanic was not in the game before.
What do you think of this find – raid spoiler or strange coincidence that means nothing? We will only find out what is really going on when Beyond Light launches and we can set foot on Europa.
That the community has analyzed every little detail in recent days before the DLC was also recently illustrated by a small tweet. It was searched for possible secrets so thoroughly that Bungie had to pull the emergency brake.
