Recently, a piece of Destiny history made its return with the Vault of Glass. What do you think of the raid classic in Destiny 2 so far?
What’s the story behind the return? Just over a week ago, on the evening of May 22, as part of Season 14, the highly anticipated Vault of Glass opened its doors in Destiny 2 for the Guardians. Since then, players have been diligently battling the Vex boss Atheon, slapping Oracles, and grinding for iconic weapons like Vision of Confluence, Fatebringer, or the Vex Mythoclast.
Numerous Guardians have already ventured into the underground Vex labyrinth and have formed their own impressions of the old new raid – whether as veterans on nostalgia trips or as a completely new experience. We from MeinMMO took this opportunity to shed light on the atmosphere surrounding the comeback.
A highlight from Destiny 1 is back
Even if some Guardians are now entering complete new territory with the Vault of Glass (VoG) – many Destiny veterans likely still remember this raid from Destiny 1 very well. Because it is not only the very first raid in the Destiny universe, but for many also a piece of unforgettable history with special experiences and memories.
Until its return, the Vault of Glass still embodied for many Destiny enthusiasts one of the best, if not the best raid in the entire Destiny series. The excellently coordinated mix of gunfights, skill-based challenges, and not overly complex boss mechanics made this raid a masterpiece for many. Also, some iconic weapons originate from this activity. Accordingly, some were very excited for the return.
What do you think of the Vault of Glass in Destiny 2?
But what’s the situation now after the launch of the raid? After all, content recycling is a controversial ongoing topic in Destiny 2, warmed-up content – as good as it may be – is by no means to everyone’s taste. Moreover, there have been some changes in the raid compared to part 1 – not just visually. For instance, there are new types of enemies, and some mechanics now work differently.
That’s why we want to know from you: How do you view the launch of the Vault of Glass in Destiny 2? Whether as a VoG veteran or someone who just tackled this raid for the first time. Was the comeback successful? What’s the impression among VoG newcomers? What do you generally think about bringing back such iconic content?
