Confused air spray with cleaning oil
A gamer explained on reddit that his girlfriend wanted to do him a favor. To this end, she cleaned his desk:
One evening, I came home from work and sat down to play a few games. I noticed that my desk was stained and oily, but I didn’t think much of it. When I started typing, I realized that my fingers were oily too. I turned on the light and found that my keyboard was soaked with a strange liquid.
I asked my girlfriend if she knew what had happened, and she said: “Oh yes, I cleaned your desk and keyboard while you were at work…”
Instead of the can of air spray, she accidentally grabbed a can of WD-40.
What is WD-40 anyway? WD-40 is regarded in the USA as the all-purpose oil par excellence and is now sold in dozens of countries. It displaces moisture, eliminates grease, soot, dirt, protects against rust, and serves as a lubricant, also known as penetrating oil.
The all-purpose oil is offered in the form of a spray can. And this circumstance is likely what led to the mix-up that the girlfriend accidentally took the wrong can from the cabinet.
You should regularly clean your tech
It is definitely worthwhile to thoroughly clean your gaming keyboard and other peripherals regularly. Because crumbs, dust, and other dirt accumulate between and on the keys over time. Some researchers claim that there are more bacteria on the keyboard on average than on the toilet seat.
What options are there? The easiest method is actually an air spray, with which you can first remove the dirt from the crevices of your keyboard.
To eliminate bacteria and other stubborn soiling on the keyboard, it is best to use a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol or another cleaning alcohol.
