Gigantic is conducting a stress test in June for PC and Xbox One.
Gigantic has had a tumultuous development history. As a Windows10-only game and later for Xbox One, it attracted attention with its quirky aesthetics, the massive guardians, and the gameplay concept. Then, like other hero shooters (Battleborn, Paladins), it got caught in the bug wave of Blizzard’s worldwide hit Overwatch and the bad news started piling up.
Interest waned, development time extended, funds ran low, employees were laid off – things didn’t look bright anymore. As the “White Knight,” a hero in shining armor, publisher Perfect World decided to release Gigantic, when it seemed almost impossible.
However, it has been suspiciously quiet around Gigantic in recent months. Now, on June 30, a stress test will take place on PC and Xbox One for selected players. It looks like the project is gaining momentum again. By the way, they see themselves as a “free-to-play third-person MOBA.”
