In the MOBA Gigantic, the next beta is starting, but somehow the game barely gets out of the starting blocks.
Gigantic will start its next beta event this Thursday. It kicks off at 6 PM our time on November 17th. The fun will be over on Monday, November 21st, at 9 AM.
There will be 4 fixed heroes featured, 4 other random heroes will be unlocked for players on their accounts, 3 maps will be played, and everyone can talk and report about everything – there is no NDA.
There will also be no “wipe” – those who participated in the last beta weekend can continue where they left off.
Gigantic – What is going on?
A brief look back: Last year, when the games were still in development or an early stage, it looked like a wave of hero shooters was coming our way. Games like Paladins, Battleborn, and Gigantic looked promising.

But in reality, Blizzard’s Overwatch hit like a bomb, painted by someone a sweet girl. Overwatch took over the entire genre and now threatens to suppress the other games, vampirically sucking away their attention.
Even though there are significant differences in the games, they seem hardly recognized. It’s as if Overwatch is telling the other games: Resistance is futile, your attention will be assimilated. Welcome to our vast shadow, where you will stay for the foreseeable future.

This has hit Battleborn quite hard and the fans complain about it. Gigantic is also struggling immensely to get out of the starting blocks – the studio Motiga seemingly lacked money and resources on all fronts. Recently, the publisher Perfect World took over the game, so it will still be released. At one point, it seemed that it wouldn’t be so certain anymore.
What do you think of Gigantic? And do you believe it has a chance to hold its ground in the market?
