Deponitox is making its debut in its Gigantamax form in Pokémon GO. MeinMMO provides you with essential tips for a successful battle.
What kind of event is this? On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the Dyna Battle Day in Pokémon GO will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. It brings Gigantamax Deponitox into the game for the first time.
During the event, you can find and challenge the monster at all energy sources. Additionally, energy sources will refresh more frequently. The limit for Dyna particles is also increased to 1,600 particles during the event, and you will find 8 times the amount of particles at energy sources. The number of special trades is also increased to 2.
On November 1, 2025, from 12:00 AM to 5:00 PM, you will receive double the amount of particles while walking, and you will only need a quarter of the usual distance to obtain them. The remote raid limit is also increased to 20 from November 1, 2025, at 1:00 AM to November 2, 2025, at 4:00 AM.
4 Tips for Battling Gigantamax Deponitox
1. Distribute the Roles
Gigantamax battles are among the toughest challenges in the game. Therefore, you will need many trainers to defeat the boss. 4 trainers always form a team.
Coordinate within your team who takes which role and brings the appropriate Pokémon. You should have one trainer responsible for healing and another for shields. The other two trainers can focus on dealing damage.
2. Swap in Battle
In a Gigantamax battle, it is crucial to fill your Dynameter with a defender as quickly as possible. Once it is filled, you should swap in your attacker or healer, depending on the role you take in the battle.
After using your attacks, shields, or healing, switch back to your defender. Repeat this process until the boss is defeated.
For a defender, it is important that the monster has a fast attack that only takes 0.5 seconds. This way, you fill your Dynameter the quickest. Also, make sure that your monster is resistant to Deponitox’s attacks.
The following Pokémon are suitable as defenders:
- Zamazenta (King of Shields) with Metal Claw
- Metagross with Meteor Mash or Dark Claw
- Corviknight with Sandstorm
- Duraludon with Metal Claw
- Zacian (King of Swords) with Metal Claw
3. Use the Right Counters
If you are responsible for dealing damage in the battle, you should, of course, use strong counters to deal maximum damage. Remember that your monster’s fast attack determines which Dyna attack it has.
Deponitox is weak against Psychic and Ground type attacks. Therefore, you should ideally use the following monsters:
- Alakazam with Confusion or Psychic Blade
- Latios with Zen Headbutt
- Metagross with Zen Headbutt
- Excadrill with Mud Shot
- Silicobra with Confusion or Psychic Blade
- Latias with Zen Headbutt
If you don’t have any strong counters in your team yet, you can complete the free, limited-time research until the start of the event, which is much easier to complete for the first time.
4. Strengthen Pokémon
The best Pokémon won’t help you in battle if they aren’t strong. So make sure to increase your monster’s CP by leveling them up. Dyna attacks should also be leveled to maximize their effectiveness.
