The setting of Ghost Recon Wildlands is Bolivia. Wildlands takes place a few years in the future. The development team collected real-world data on what weapons are available to the local military or police and which weapons are used by the Mexican drug cartels. This aims to ensure that the weapon selection in the game feels authentic.
