Ubisoft will soon release the next shooter: Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be available on October 4. However, Ghost Recon should not be compared to The Division 2, according to the Creative Director of Breakpoint. The differences between the two franchises are too significant.
Why compare games? Ubisoft has two powerful shooter franchises under its wing: Ghost Recon and The Division. A new installment of The Division 2 was just released on March 15. The sequel to Ghost Recon Wildlands, Breakpoint, launches on October 4.
Both game series are often compared due to the same publisher. However, this is unfounded, according to the Creative Director of Breakpoint.
Here are the differences: Ghost Recon and The Division should not be compared. They are simply too different, says Eric Couzian.
[Ghost Recon Breakpoint] is a tactical game. When we say it is a tactical game, we mean kills with one bullet. It is a big, big change. We want players to truly feel like a Spec-Ops member.
In The Division, players often complained that enemies felt like bullet sponges. Especially bosses absorbed many bullets with ease, and players did not feel powerful as agents. The developers aimed to rectify this with The Division 2.

What the two games have in common: Despite this significant difference between Ghost Recon Breakpoint and The Division 2, the games do share something in common: drones.
Breakpoint takes place on the fictional island of Auroa. There, players, members of the Spec-Ops unit Ghosts, have crashed and must survive. However, they are not alone on the island and are being hunted.
The island is considered a secret testing base for Skell Technology’s new autonomous high-tech drones. However, this technology has been seized by the Wolves, rogue Ghosts led by Colonel Cole D. Walker, portrayed by actor Jon Bernthal.
What types of drones will exist in Breakpoint has not been fully revealed yet. However, gameplay videos show that the high-tech drones are usually surrounded by armor or a shield. Players should therefore avoid them or prepare for a firefight, as they may be familiar from The Division.
