In Pokémon GO, the event Appropriate Surprises
has been announced. How it unfolds and what to expect there can be found here.
What kind of event is this? The event starts on April 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM and will run until April 9, 2024, at 8:00 PM. In addition to some Pokémon that are part of the event, there will also be a few bonuses, a collector challenge, and suitable showcases.
During the event, there will be an increased chance of encountering XXS and XXL Pokémon, as well as 4 new shiny Pokémon, one of which can only be obtained if you live in the southern hemisphere. Furthermore, the chance of encountering a shiny Wailmer will be increased.
4 new Shinies as well as many big and small Pokémon
Which new Shinies will be available during the event? A whopping 4 new Shinies will be unlocked with the new event in Pokémon GO. These include Reißlaus and its evolution Tectass, as well as Kaguron and Katagami. While Kaguron can be found in the southern hemisphere, you will encounter Katagami in the northern hemisphere, meaning in our latitudes.
Which Pokémon will be in the wild? During the event, you can look forward to encountering the following Pokémon in the wild.

- Kaguron (only in the southern hemisphere)*

Which Pokémon will be in field research? There will also be field research tasks that you can complete, rewarding you with Pokémon encounters. You can encounter the following Pokémon:

Bonuses and other event content
What bonuses will there be during the event? During the event, the following 3 bonuses will be activated:
- Double experience points for catching Pokémon when you land great, excellent, or fabulous throws (this will not stack with the catch bonus in the Community Day Classic in April).
- Increased chance in the wild to encounter XXS and XXL Pokémon.
- Increased chance of encountering a shiny Wailmer.
What further content will there be during the event? During the event, there will also be a collector challenge that you can solve. Additionally, there will be showcases featuring Pokémon that are part of the event.
