What is Geronimatz? The Pokémon is from Generation 5 and was previously not available in Pokémon GO. Since the start of the PvP League on Friday evening, players have the chance to catch the monster.
The monster is mainly available through the PvP League but also in the wild. We will show you how to secure Geronimatz for yourself.
How to get Geronimatz
Is the Pokémon available in the PvP League? Yes, the monster is one of the rewards in the new league. It becomes available at Rank 7.
However, reaching this rank and receiving a Pokémon as a reward does not guarantee that you will get Geronimatz. It is one of the possible monsters. Alternatively, there are the following Pokémon:

The chance for Geronimatz is therefore not very high. You need some luck to obtain the new Pokémon from the PvP League. Additionally, you must first reach Rank 7 and then win 4 out of 5 battles to receive the reward (with the Premium Pass, it’s 2 out of 5 battles).
Are there other ways to get Geronimatz? The Pokémon also appears in the wild. Some trainers have reported this on Reddit. However, the Pokémon is said to be quite rare and difficult to find.
The Pokémon has not yet been spotted in eggs. So, you shouldn’t rely on that for now.
Is Geronimatz and Washakwil worth it?
This is the evolution: Geronimatz can be developed into Washakwil. This Pokémon is significantly more useful than its pre-evolution.
How strong will Washakwil be? First, let’s take a look at the values of the Pokémon:
- Attack value: 232
- Defense value: 152
- HP value: 225
- Max CP: 3088
The attack value of Washakwil is solid, and its HP value gives it some durability. However, due to its defense value, Washakwil is still defeated faster than other Pokémon.
As a flying attacker, Washakwil is rarely used and has stronger competition in that area. Therefore, it doesn’t have a real field of use.
In the PvP League, Washakwil does not necessarily convince. Its weak defense value is a significant disadvantage, and there are better alternatives.
Is the Pokémon essential? If you don’t immediately receive it as a PvP reward, it’s not a big deal. You’re not necessarily missing out on anything with the Pokémon. Geronimatz is especially interesting for the PokéDex.
