The German YouTuber HandOfBlood has founded his own e-sport team. With Eintracht Spandau, he competes in the Prime League, the highest German-speaking league in League of Legends. With his team, he wants to shake up the scene and build a bond, similar to what is found with football clubs.
What kind of team is this? Eintracht Spandau is a team founded by YouTuber HandOfBlood and the influencer agency INSTINCT3. Initially, their focus is to be on League of Legends, although an expansion to other games is not ruled out.
The team will start directly in the Prime League in LoL and will take over the position of EURONICS Gaming. The Prime League consists of the largest teams from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. There, teams like Schalke 04, Mouz, and the second team of Unicorns of Love are competing.
According to HandOfBlood, they want to shake up the scene, provide more “storytelling,” and especially create an identification with the club. This has been a significant problem with modern e-sport teams.
The head of the sports department will be Kevin Westphal, who previously led EURONICS Gaming. According to him, the team wants to “place themselves in the upper midfield” but ultimately fight for the title of EU Masters.
Influencers and established team structures should strengthen the fan scene
What should Eintracht Spandau do differently? According to HandOfBlood, particularly the fan scene is the focus of the new team. He sees a problem in that it is difficult to identify with one’s favorite team in e-sports when players and people around the team are replaced every year.
His goal is a fan scene like in football. For this, long-term structures are to be planned, which will also include streamers and influencers. Moreover, merchandise for the team is already in development.

Many fans hope that the German mid-laner PowerOfEvil will switch to Eintracht Spandau. He is considered one of the best German players and has apparently parted ways with TSM. However, a switch to the Prime League may be too little for his aspirations.
