In a recently released video, YouTuber Seltix claims to have landed a minor role in the second season of the Netflix series “Squid Game.” However, Rewinside, a well-known German content creator, quickly expressed doubts about this claim.
Who is Rewinside? Sebastian “Rewinside“ Meyer is no stranger in the German YouTube scene. For about a decade, he has entertained his audience on YouTube and Twitch. With 3.36 million subscribers on YouTube, he is one of the most influential German content creators.
Who is Seltix? Leon “Seltix“ Nguyen is a YouTuber with 402,000 subscribers. He became known for his experiments, whether trying out flea market sales or testing quirky hotels around the world.
What kind of video did Seltix release? On September 12, Seltix published a YouTube video in which he claimed to be participating in the next season of the famous Netflix series “Squid Game“.
He presented alleged evidence, including his trip to Seoul, the capital of South Korea, where the shooting was supposed to take place. He also offered insights into the supposed filming itself.

How did Rewinside react to the announcement? However, Rewinside was not so easily fooled. Right at the beginning of the video, he noticed a QR code, which he quickly scanned.
The result: a video titled “I pranked you, April Fools“. This immediately raised his skepticism, and he began to examine the entire video more closely.
Among other things, Rewinside noticed that in the reflection of Seltix’s sunglasses, buildings from Cologne were visible, which did not match the supposed filming in Seoul. The alleged restaurant in Seoul also turned out to be a location in Düsseldorf.
Another clue was the number 456, which was visible on Seltix’s sweatshirt. In the well-known series “Squid Game“, all participants wear numbers on their clothing. The number 456 was that of a main character from the first season, even though Seltix only spoke of a minor role. However, even more bizarre was the fact that other actors on set were also wearing the number 456.
Finally, Rewinside discovered German drinks and inscriptions, including on a carpet. These alleged finds again contradicted the claim that the filming was taking place in South Korea.
What does Rewinside say about the lie? Despite all the inconsistencies, Rewinside praised Seltix’s effort and creativity in making the video. He explained: “But he really put in a lot of effort in putting this together. You have to give him that. It’s not bad, he really did this with effort.“
At the end of the video, Rewinside once again expressed his skepticism and emphasized that he was convinced Seltix had intentionally designed it so that one could recognize the inconsistencies.
He referred again to the QR code and the reflection in the sunglasses and said: “He’s doing this knowingly. He doesn’t want to fool anyone badly. He’s doing this in a way that you can figure it out on your own, and that is also the goal of the video.“
Overall, the question remains whether Seltix has indeed landed a role in “Squid Game 2“ is still unresolved. However, Rewinside has shown that a critical look at the alleged evidence is necessary before believing such claims.
