The moderators Joko and Klaas organized a treasure hunt for 1 million euros. Kevin ‘Papaplatte’ Teller solved puzzles live on Twitch with his community. Now one of his viewers is a millionaire.
What was that for an action? The moderators Joachim ‘Joko’ Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf are actually known for their humorous television appearances. In their format ‘Joko & Klaas against ProSieben’, they have the opportunity to win airtime, which they repeatedly use to draw attention to serious issues.
They now used this airtime to host a large-scale treasure hunt. A series of puzzles were supposed to lead a viewer to the geo-coordinates of a suitcase containing 1 million euros. The action was also intended to encourage people to register as stem cell donors with DKMS.
In addition, the DKMS is also active in research, with the aim of developing new treatments and increasing patients’ chances of survival.

How did Papaplatte get involved? Starting from November 8, 2023, Joko and Klaas announced a riddle every evening at 8:15 PM, the solution of which would provide a hint about the treasure’s location.
The Twitch streamer Kevin ‘Papaplatte’ Teller was eagerly solving the riddles – supported by an average of more than 26,000 viewers (via sullygnome). This collective intelligence allowed the puzzles to be solved relatively quickly.
So it was on the evening of November 14, when a viewer of the Twitch streamer knocked on a van around 8:45 PM, where the moderators were waiting with the coveted suitcase. Out of sheer nervousness, he apparently had trouble actually opening the suitcase.
When the viewer finally succeeded, his first words were: ‘Thank you, Papaplatte.’ He cheered him on during the stream. He felt as if he had won the million himself, said Papaplatte. The corresponding clip was shared by the streamer on X, formerly Twitter.

What does he plan to do with the money? The winner announces to Joko and Klaas that he wants to go on a family vacation first. They had been saving for it for a long time. Now this wish can probably be fulfilled a little faster than planned.
The treasure hunt was actually a complete success not only for the viewer: Joko and Klaas aimed to motivate at least 10,000 people to register as stem cell donors with their action. However, there should have been more than 38,000 new registrations within the last 24 hours.
