The German Twitch streamer Trymacs has found a crazy strategy to dominate the mobile game Clash of Clans. He has reached ranks 1 and 2 worldwide with two clans and lets them fight each other. This generates town gold for him to maximize further clans. Soon, the entire leaderboard could consist only of his clans – with consequences for the entire game.
What is happening right now?
- Trymacs is known for investing a lot of money in games like FIFA. For years, the streamer and YouTuber has shown mobile games on his channels, including Clash of Clans, one of the most successful games ever (via Sensortower).
- In May, he reached a record with his clan. They were the first to completely develop a clan city. This secured them the number 1 spot on the leaderboard.
- Since then, Trymacs has founded new clans with his community that they also wanted to push up by fighting against each other. Now, he owns ranks 1, 2, and 3 – with a significant lead over rank 4.
- However, the method has implications for the whole game. Clash of Clans is already criticized for allowing players to buy currencies and other advantages with real money.
A lot of currency for the Trymacs community and little chance for other clans
How exactly does the method work? Trymacs first completely developed one clan. This usually takes several years or costs around 550,000 euros. However, it went much faster with his community, although it is unclear how much real money was invested here.
A second clan was then created, into which Trymacs and his viewers also invested in-game currency town gold. This clan climbed to number 2 on the global leaderboard within a few weeks.
Now comes the trick:
- Both clans build their defenses according to a specific scheme, so that one half cannot damage ground troops while the other half cannot damage air troops. If one deploys their troops cleverly, they can easily destroy the clan city – typically multiple players are needed per attack.
- Moreover, only clans of roughly equal strength fight against each other. Currently, only Trymacs’ clans are fighting each other.
- As a reward for the destruction, there is town gold and raid medals.
- The town gold is reinvested into a new clan that can be pushed up the leaderboard.
- The raid medals, in turn, are a personal currency that players can use to buy magical items such as potions, wall rings, boosters, or upgrades. Thus, players also benefit from the push of the clans.

What results from this? Trymacs dominates the leaderboard. As his clans fight each other, the maximum town gold is generated without much effort. This is reinvested to bring new clans to the top, which can then also earn maximum town gold.
Basically, Trymacs renders the leaderboard absurd because no one will catch up with his clans anymore.
We can now generate three million town gold with each clan every week. Without the community, without you. […]. We can max out another clan every few weeks, just with our clans. Once we have maxed the fourth, the fifth will follow faster. And once we have the fifth maxed, the sixth will go even faster. It gets to the point that we can max out a clan every weekend just with our existing clans.
But there are also good rewards for the players themselves. The number of raid medals depends on how well the clan performed on a raid weekend. Since victories are guaranteed, there are also maximum rewards. This, in turn, boosts the players in their own villages.
“The developers have to do something about this”
What does Trymacs say about it? He can’t believe that this method works in his videos. He was completely surprised that his third clan reached rank 3 within three weeks.
He emphasizes that while no other clan is directly harmed, the leaderboard is meaningless. Additionally, he benefits from it in his village. He is currently maximizing the walls just with the help of the raid medals.
He sees the developers as responsible for taking action: “Supercell has to do something about this,” he said at the end of one of his videos (via YouTube). However, it currently doesn’t seem like Trymacs will stop maximizing further clans.
Streamers have many followers: It is well known that Twitch streamers and YouTubers can influence games. For example, when Asmongold first played Final Fantasy XIV, he couldn’t escape from onlookers.
Also, influencers play an important role in trends and can create hype, but they can also harm games with their criticism or behavior.
Again and again, people contact Trymacs who feel threatened in their gaming enjoyment by the numerous clans on the leaderboard. They see Clash of Clans overall as being in danger.
