The German Twitch community has created a server for the current hype game Rust. But the server is already losing some streamers after a week, who are now moving to other servers. After some conflicts, there are now 3 major German projects for the survival MMO Rust.
This is the situation: Shortly after Christmas, a hype started in the USA around the seven-year-old survival MMO Rust. The group “OfflineTV” opened a large server. The special feature: Only invited streamers were allowed on it. PvP and roleplay were then conducted on the server.
The concept quickly proved to be a success and was copied by Spanish content creators. This made Rust a worldwide hit on Twitch in early 2021.
Last Saturday, the German content creators were also ready. The streamer Rumathra had started a server and invited some big German Twitch streamers. Rumathra also openly admitted to having blatantly copied the US concept with the intention of being commercially successful.
However, within a few days, conflicts arose between the streamers, causing the server to pause for a few days. In the meantime, streamers have withdrawn from the server and started their own thing. Furthermore, another project has been launched.
Standart Skill starts his own thing because a buddy is to be banned
This is the split-off: The most viewed clip from the Rust server in the first week shows the player “pubHeroz” killing a whole group of other players with a crossbow and bow, commenting with a “GG Boys”.
It looked as if pubHeroz was playing in a different league than the opponents. It is also quite normal in Rust for experienced Rust and FPS players to make beginners look like cannon fodder. This happens when you don’t read beginner guides for Rust.
After that, a clip circulated showing a player complaining to the server operator Rumathra: pubHeroz was just too strong. He was getting headshots from 100 meters away.
Rumathra then said they were considering kicking him. The player Pray had already been thrown off the server.
pubHeroz is in the group of Standart Skill (thumbnail), a German YouTuber who became huge with Fortnite.
He felt unwanted on the server. Standart Skill had the feeling that his buddy would only be thrown off the server because he was supposedly too strong. However, he felt he wasn’t too strong and was constantly losing. Standart Skill couldn’t understand the impending ban and started his own project, apparently also because the original server paused for a few days.
There were apparently deficiencies in communication. So pubHeroz apparently didn’t know whether he would actually be banned, but assumed so because some viewers warned him who had seen the clip with Rumathra (via YouTube).
RocketBeans opens its own server
This is the competitor project: Rumathra was not the only German who noticed the huge hype around Rust. Other Twitch streamers also apparently planned to replicate the Americans’ idea of creating their own streamer server.
The internet broadcaster Rocket Beans TV announced last week that it would open its own Rust server together with Bonjwa. Some streamers who played on the original Rust server but distanced themselves from it are now landing there, after a conflict over sexual harassment escalated.
Thus, streamer Shurjoka now plays there, who had previously announced that she would withdraw from the original German Rust server. Also, a major streamer from the original server, Dhalucard, is now there, along with Lara Loft and PietSmiet.
Dhalucard and PietSmiet were the numbers 3 and 4 of the most viewed German-speaking Twitch streamers for Rust last week.
This is how things will continue with the original Rust server: They retreated in the meantime and rethought the server. Apparently, the original approach of “invite people and just get started” was too naive. Now they want to create rules and open a committee to solve problems when they arise.
Some fans regret that the original project has splintered. Because there, the streamers were mixed. In the new projects, streamers would now play “from a bubble” together – as is usual in collaborations.
Also, the original server in the USA has now split into 2 projects, but they are still managed by the same group.

The German Twitch project for Rust caused a stir on Twitter when a discussion about sexual harassment flared up. This had serious repercussions:
