In Path of Exile 2, there are loot filters just like in its predecessor, which are meant to make your life easier. The first and most well-known one comes from a German developer.
What is a loot filter? The NeverSink loot filter is already a term for many players who have played the predecessor of Path of Exile 2. A loot filter is a tool that changes how you see the loot on your screen in Path of Exile 2.
The tool highlights important loot and ensures that less significant loot is hidden or displayed smaller. This way, you should no longer overlook the good and expensive items in PoE2. At the latest since the patch that made enemies drop more items, a loot filter has become a really useful companion.

What the NeverSink loot filter can do for Path of Exile 2
What functions does the loot filter already offer? The NeverSink loot filter for PoE2 is still in an early development stage with version v.0.1.2. However, it already has the main features:
- Important drops are highlighted, including currencies, maps, and runes.
- Currently, it hides no items.
- Some sounds and visual effects play when a good item drops.
- Changed colors for item groups, for example, all runes in a separate color.
- Gold is displayed better.
What is yet to come? The filter is far from finished. According to the developer, the following features are still missing:
- Creating custom filters via the website filterblade.xyz as in the predecessor is not yet possible.
- Classifying items into tiers is not currently supported by the game and therefore cannot be offered.
- So far, there is no easy way to install loot filters on the console.
- Currently, there is only one predefined style of the filter; more will follow.
How do I install the filter? To install the NeverSink loot filter in Path of Exile 2, you first need to download it from Github. We have linked the overview page for you so you can always download the latest version. Just click “Source code (zip)” under the latest post.
Then unzip the zip file using a program of your choice and place the file “Neversink.LiteFilter.filter” into the directory:
- C:UsersNameDocumentsMy GamesPath of Exile 2
- or alternatively: %userprofile%DocumentsMy GamesPath of Exile 2
Now open Path of Exile 2 and go to the options. There, open the tab “Game”. Now you can select your filter. The appearance and sounds should change immediately.
A German developer is behind the tool
Who is behind NeverSink? The tool that has simplified the lives of countless players in the first part of Path of Exile comes from a German developer. The development of the loot filters and the website filterblade.xyz, where players can create their own filters for Path of Exile, is purely a hobby.
The project is financed by voluntary supporters on Patreon.com, who donate a few euros a month to finance the further development of the loot filters. Since 2018, the hobby developer has been on Patreon and blogs there about upcoming updates for his tools and filters.
Indie projects often rely on the support of their players or users. While NeverSink is already indispensable in Path of Exile, another developer can revel in sudden fame. A streamer creates the hype: German developers celebrate 500,000 wishlists on Steam after a Twitch streamer showcased their game in his show.
