Many gamers are indeed willing to invest a lot of money in their hobby “gaming.” The German company Mifcon has now introduced a gaming PC that costs nearly 30,000 euros.
With the RTX 4090, you get the currently fastest gaming graphics card for your system. The German PC builder Mifcom has now installed 7 of them in its new gaming PC “Big Boss” (via mifcom.de).
However, the price is correspondingly high, as it is 28,999 euros. For that amount, you could buy a small car or go on a luxury vacation.
New Gaming PC Only Uses High-End Hardware
What’s inside the gaming PC? Mifcon only uses high-end hardware in its new “Big Boss” PC.
- Processor: 64-core Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX
- Graphics Card: 7 x RTX 4090
- Memory: 128 GB
- Storage: 4 TB SSD (WD Black SN850X)
- Power Supply: 2x 2000W Super Flower Leadex
- Mainboard: ASUS Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI II, AMD WRX80
- Cooling: Liquid Cooling
Some of you might be disappointed. Because Mifcon explains that the Big Boss is sold without cool RGB lighting. So for the price, you only get the raw performance and no glowing and blinking, as you are used to from other manufacturers.
At 14.3 kg, the gaming PC is also not exactly light. Either you need a sturdy table or it’s best to place the PC under the desk.
Who would even buy such a thing? The gaming PC is not surprisingly aimed at gamers who play two rounds of Call of Duty in the evening or prefer to play Minecraft.
Instead, the “Big Boss” is aimed at people who need a high-end PC for tasks such as video rendering or machine learning. And in the professional sector, around 30,000 euros for a gaming PC is not as expensive as it might sound.
For most gamers, a single RTX 4090 should already be more than sufficient, which alone costs around 1,600 euros. But now some are wondering whether buying such an expensive graphics card is even worth it when the GPU will be outdated in a year.
7 Graphics Cards Use a Lot of Power and May Be Too Expensive for Some
High Operating Costs May Also Deter: Anyway, the new “Big Boss” PC from Mifcon has another “problem”: the operating costs. 7 graphics cards and even the Threadripper from AMD require quite a bit of power, which will significantly increase electricity costs. And in recent months, electricity costs have risen sharply.
On the other hand: someone who can afford a gaming PC for 30,000 euros probably won’t worry too much about their electricity bill.
Saving Electricity in Daily Life: Some gamers are turning to power-efficient systems instead. MeinMMO editor Benedikt Schlotmann explains in his article how his new gaming PC saves him electricity every month. The PC isn’t particularly large, but it’s sufficient for everyday use.
