Four years after the disaster film Greenland hit the big screen, filming for a sequel to the apocalypse is soon to begin. Hollywood star Gerard Butler is back.
In 2020, the successful action and disaster film Greenland was released, where Gerard Butler tries to save his family from a global catastrophe. Falling meteors threaten all life on Earth. The only hope is a safe bunker in Greenland.
Now, four years later, there is good news for all those who enjoyed Greenland: Filming for a sequel will begin as early as April of this year.

What is known so far about Greenland 2? The sequel is titled Greenland 2: Migration. Filming for the new disaster film will start in April 2024 in the UK.
Ric Roman Waugh (Snitch) will direct again, while Chris Sparling wrote the screenplay – both were already involved in Greenland. The script then received a revision from Mitchell LaFortune, who had previously worked with Waugh and Butler on Kandahar.
Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin (Deadpool) are also returning, having played the couple in the small family in the first part.
The plot of Greenland 2: Migration is supposed to connect to the end of the first part. The main characters leave the bunker in Greenland, where they found refuge before the world around them was destroyed by meteors. Now they embark on a journey through a post-apocalyptic Europe to find a new home in a broken world.

When will Greenland 2 be released? So far, no exact release date for the sequel to the disaster film has been announced. However, one can expect that the film will be released next year, in 2025.
