The character Zhongli in Genshin Impact is considered too weak by many players. Now, some users report a buff to the character’s stats and abilities.

As a 5-star character, Zhongli has not been able to meet player expectations. Many had hoped for more from him and expressed their frustration on reddit that he is too weak.
The developer miHoYo has addressed the criticism and emphasized that Zhongli is still a good character. Players are just underestimating him. Therefore, no buffs for Zhongli are currently planned, only a bug fix.

What could it be? Users on reddit, where the videos were posted, had several theories regarding the sudden improvements in Zhongli’s stats. While some consider it a simple bug, others suspect it could be an A/B test.
In such a test, two test groups are usually set up, each presented with different versions of a product. The feedback and reactions of users to each product are compared to conclude which of the two versions performed better.
In Zhongli’s case, it could be a small group of players who received buffs or other adjustments. Based on their performance and metrics like the number of achievements, etc., miHoYo would decide whether the buff should remain permanent. At least that is the assumption of the reddit users.
However, a third alternative could also be that the videos are simply faked. The moderators of the Genshin subreddit also warn against this. One should therefore take the info about the “stealth buff” with caution.
While Zhongli fans hope for a buff for the character, data miners are digging through the game’s files and also find something. A leak suggests that a big event for Genshin Impact is coming soon.
