Genshin Impact has a large number of content and information that can be somewhat overwhelming. We at MeinMMO explain in this guide what the values and their abbreviations mean.
What is KT? KT is the abbreviation for “Critical Hit Rate” (CRIT Rate in English). It indicates the probability of landing a critical hit. By default, the characters have a value of 5%, which can be significantly increased.
What does KSCH mean? KSCH is the abbreviation for “Critical Damage” (CRIT DMG in English) and describes the damage value you deal with a critical hit. By default, you deal 50% more damage. This value can also be significantly increased.
Which value is more important? Both values play an important role in damage, but generally, you should increase Critical Damage more than Crit Chance. Because at a chance of 50%, you land a crit on average every second hit, which is hard to increase with higher chances. It is important that critical hits simply deal more damage.
With Patch 3.3, Genshin Impact receives a new card game. Watch the trailer here:
Increasing KT and KSCH – Here’s how
If you want to increase the values, you have various options:
- You can equip and upgrade weapons with the corresponding values.
- You can equip and upgrade artifacts with the values.
- There is buff food that temporarily increases the values KT and KSCH.
Some characters also automatically increase their values when they reach a new breakthrough level. For example, Diluc gets KT from this.
The other attributes from Genshin Impact explained
What other values are there? In addition to the values that have received an abbreviation in the game, there are a few more.
Max. HP, for example, indicates the maximum life points, ATK the attack damage, and DEF the defense. Elemental Mastery, in turn, increases the effect of elemental reactions, which we have explained in more detail here.

Also, the other values are relatively self-explanatory. Healing Bonus increases the healing done, while Passive Healing Bonus increases the healing received. The Charge Rate refers to the elemental energy that one can absorb, while Quick Discharge reduces the recharge time.
