Genshin Impact has a new system. We explain how reputation works and how to increase your standing.
Patch 1.1 is now live in Genshin Impact and has brought numerous new features. One of the most important features is the reputation system – in the English version it is called “reputation”, although many players simply refer to it as “standing”. This system unlocks various bonuses, recipes, and rewards. In this guide, we explain what you need to do for a high reputation score, how to increase your standing, and what the best rewards are.
How to unlock the reputation system: To start collecting reputation, the system must first be unlocked. Depending on which of the two regions you want to collect reputation in, there are different requirements.
- Reputation in Mondstadt: Reach Adventure Rank 25 and complete the quest line “The Stranger Who Caressed the Wind” (Prologue – Act 1). Afterwards, you can speak to Hertha in Mondstadt to access the Mondstadt reputation system.
- Reputation in Liyue: You also need Adventure Rank 25 here. Additionally, the quest line “The Farewell Visit” must have been completed (Chapter I – Act 2). Afterwards, you can speak to Miss Yu at the Liyue harbor. A quest should automatically lead you to her.
How does one gain reputation? To increase reputation with the population of Mondstadt and Liyue, you need to collect reputation experience. You can earn this through four different activities that you can check with Hertha (Mondstadt) and Yu (Liyue). The four activities are:
- Bounties: Find and defeat special enemies.
- Requests from Residents: Help residents with their problems.
- World Exploration: Explore the game world and loot treasures.
- Quests: The quest lines in each respective area.
What are Bounties? Bounties are tasks where you must track down and defeat a specific enemy. These enemies often have special strengths and weaknesses. For example, a Ruin Guard might take less damage from Cryo and Pyro damage, but be particularly vulnerable to two-handed attacks. Study the task carefully to know the enemy’s weaknesses before the fight.
Then accept the task and travel to the marked location on the map. Once you arrive, a time limit will be triggered. Usually, you must first pick up the enemy’s trail by activating your elemental sight and finding several clues that eventually lead to the opponent. Find and defeat the target within the time limit to successfully complete the mission.
Stronger enemies grant more reputation XP. Those who want to quickly increase their reputation should therefore accept the harder tasks.
Requests from Residents: These requests are various tasks from residents and can differ. Usually, you simply need to collect some items and bring them to the respective person to complete the task and receive rewards. What you need to collect can always be viewed in the task description.
Note that you can only complete 3 bounty tasks each week (reset on Monday). This limit applies to all cities combined.

World Exploration: You typically complete world exploration while playing the game. You need to explore the game world, as the name suggests. This means primarily opening treasure chests and solving small puzzles in the game world. Gradually, the percentage that shows how much of the game world you have explored and raided will increase.
At steps 20%, 40%, and 60%, you can receive rewards. These include a medium amount of Mora and a large amount of reputation XP.
The rewards for world exploration can only be collected once.
Quests: The last category shows how many quests you have completed in Mondstadt or Liyue. Once you have completely finished a quest line, you can collect a reward here. Main quests reward 100 reputation XP, while side quests only grant 20 reputation XP.

The Rewards of the Reputation System
What rewards does the reputation system provide? To make all the effort worthwhile, there are a number of rewards that can be unlocked through the reputation system. We show you all the rewards you can receive.
Whenever you collect enough reputation XP, you will level up in the reputation tier of Mondstadt or Liyue. You can then claim rewards.
Rewards for Mondstadt Reputation
- Level 1
- Recipe: Northern Apple Stew – A new recipe for cooking.
- Level 2
- Explanation: Anemoculus Resonance Stone – An alchemy recipe that helps you track down missing Anemoculi to upgrade the Statue of The Seven in Mondstadt.
- Function: Ore Vein Search in Mondstadt – The blacksmith can help you find particularly rich ore veins in Mondstadt.
- Level 3
- Blueprint: Windcatcher Bottle – A blueprint for the blacksmith. With this bottle, you can capture Anemograna and create a wind field if desired.
- Level 4
- Mondstadt – Hero’s Glory – A name card to decorate your profile.
- Recipe: Lost Eggs on Bread – A new recipe for cooking.
- Function: Lower Prices in Mondstadt – The two shops “Hunter’s Lodge” and “Mondstadt’s General Goods” offer a discount.
- Level 5
- Blueprint: Practical Food Bag No. 30 – A blueprint for the blacksmith. This bag allows you to assign a hotkey for food pickup to eat quickly in combat.
- Level 6
- Blueprint: Anemo Treasure Compass – A blueprint for the blacksmith. With this compass, you can more easily locate treasure chests in Mondstadt.
- Explanation: Portable Teleportation Point – An alchemy recipe that allows you to set a teleportation point anywhere in the game world.
- Level 7
- Mondstadt – Blessing – A name card to decorate your profile.
- Recipe: Mooncake – A new recipe for cooking.
- Level 8
- Sky-blue Wind Gliders – A new skin for the gliders in the colors of Mondstadt.
Rewards for Liyue Reputation
- Level 1
- Recipe: Golden Shrimp Cocktail – A new recipe for cooking.
- Level 2
- Explanation: Geoculus Resonance Stone – An alchemy recipe to help you track down missing Geoculi to upgrade the Statue of The Seven in Mondstadt.
- Function: Ore Vein Search in Liyue – The blacksmith can help you find particularly rich ore veins in Liyue.
- Level 3
- Explanation: Enriched Resin – An alchemy recipe that allows you to convert Original Resin into Enriched Resin for later use.
- Level 4
- Liyue – Thousand Sails – A name card to decorate your profile.
- Recipe: Crispy Lotus – A new recipe for cooking.
- Function: Lower Prices in Liyue – The two shops “Restaurant Wanmin” and “Glory and Prosperity” offer a discount.
- Level 5
- Blueprint: Adeptus’ Gourmet – A blueprint for the blacksmith. This allows you to create a portable stove to cook anywhere in the world.
- Level 6
- Blueprint: Geo Treasure Compass – A blueprint for the blacksmith. This compass makes it easier to locate treasure chests in Liyue.
- Level 7
- Liyue – In the Clouds – A name card to decorate your profile.
- Recipe: Tianshu Roast – A new recipe for cooking.
- Level 8
- Golden Sky Glider – A new skin for the gliders in the colors of Mondstadt.
Where should one start? If you have already completed the main story and reached Liyue, it is recommended to first play to reputation level 3 in Liyue.
