A player in Genshin Impact set out to defeat the boss Azhdaha using only Kequing at Level 1. He shares his success on reddit.
The user NorseFTX showed on reddit how he set himself a challenge and conquered it. He calls himself “Fake player in Genshin Impact” because he prefers to focus on challenges like this rather than on the winding abyss.
Kequing is his favorite character, but he has not pulled her since he started playing the game in 2020. Therefore, he thought about how he could celebrate his pull when the time comes: He wanted to defeat Azhdaha. Only with Kequing. Without leveling her up. He wanted “to be worth calling Kequing his main,” he writes under the reddit thread. Now the time had come.
What kind of boss is this? Azhdaha, an ancient dragon, is a weekly boss in Liyue. He is considered one of the strongest opponents in Genshin Impact. He is unlocked by completing Zhongli’s second story quest.
Azhdaha uses different elements depending on the week. In this case, it was Hydro and Electro attacks. Since the player had no high level, he faced the boss not at level 90 but at level 60.
His party consisted only of Kequing at Level 1
NorseFTX faced Azhdaha and had only his Level 1 Kequing in the team, no other characters. However, she was fully equipped, he writes on reddit.
What equipment did he use? For his mission, the player equipped Kequing with a Black Sword at level 90. As artifacts, he chose two Thundering Fury and two Gladiator.
Buff food, or dishes that increase his defense, attack, and crit rate, he used in many of his attempts, but not in the successful run: “I used food in many runs but was not successful,” he writes.
How did he succeed? On reddit, the player gives some tips on how to defeat Azhdaha:
- His main plan was to stay in front of the boss to avoid being hit by the dragon’s tail.
- Most of his deaths were caused by hard-to-dodge attacks. So, it’s worth knowing the attacks well.
- The boss spawns water bubbles that can kill you. They are random, so sometimes you just have bad luck.
- To dodge the electro glyphs, one must run back and forth.
He states that he needed over 40 attempts before Azhdaha was finally defeated. The last fight lasted about 30 minutes. Without his extensive boss knowledge, he probably would have needed significantly more attempts.
