The cooperative RPG Genshin Impact will change its event wishes again in a few days. The new wishes, meaning the loot boxes, have an increased chance for the 5-star character Zhongli and the 4-star character Xinyan. Both are currently not available in the game outside of these wishes.
These are wishes: To obtain new characters or weapons, you can use the wishes in the game. They are basically loot boxes with random rewards. In our FAQ about the Gacha system, we go into more detail.
What you need to know: The event wishes that are regularly swapped increase the chance for certain characters and weapons. Here’s what you need to know about the new wishes:
- The current wishes will end on December 1, 2020, at 3:59 PM
- The new wishes will start on December 1, 2020, at 6:00 PM
- These will run for three weeks and end on December 22 at 2:59 PM
Zhongli and Xinyan in the “Estate of the Chosen” wish
The character event wish offers two new characters that are currently not available in the game. Zhongli and Xinyan are the focus here and are not included in the standard wish.
This is the “Estate of the Chosen” wish: This wish highlights the 5-star character Zhongli. The head of the funeral company in Liyue relies on the power of the earth and attacks with a spear. The 4-star character Xinyan is of the fire element. We have already introduced the rock star closer.
Moreover, there are other characters with increased drop chances:
- 5-star character “Visitor among Mortals” Zhongli (GEO)
- 4-star character “Blazing Hot Music” Xinyan (Fire)
- 4-star character “Wolf Boy” Razor (Electro)
- 4-star character “Footprints in the Melting Snow” Chongyun (Ice)

This is the drop rate: The base probability of pulling a 5-star hero remains at a measly 0.6%. However, the chance that Zhongli appears is 50%. If you draw another 5-star hero, the chance for Zhongli in the next lucky pull is 100%.
The 4-star characters appear with a base probability of 5.1%. If you pull a 4-star hero, the chance for one of the three event heroes is also 50%, and on the second attempt, it’s 100%.
While Zhongli will only be available in this event wish, Xinyan may also appear in the standard wish “Wanderlust” with the next update 1.2.
Zhongli’s matching weapon is available in the “Divine Work” wish
This is the “Divine Work” wish: The second event wish increases your chance of obtaining two 5-star weapons as well as five 4-star weapons. Among them is “Rainbow Spear”, a spear. So a suitable weapon for Zhongli.
In this wish, the drop chance of the following items increases:
- 5-star weapon Rainbow Spear (Polearm)
- 5-star weapon Rough Sword (Claymore)
- 4-star weapon Dragon’s Cry (Sword)
- 4-star weapon Bell (Claymore)
- 4-star weapon Favonius Codex (Catalyst)
- 4-star weapon Favonius Warbow (Bow)
- 4-star weapon Dragon’s Bane (Polearm)
This is the drop rate: The base probability of pulling a 5-star weapon is still only 0.7%. If you pull a legendary weapon, the chances for Rainbow Spear or Rough Sword are 75% higher than for the other legendary weapons. If you still have bad luck and pull another 5-star weapon, you will be guaranteed to receive one of the event weapons on the second draw.
The base probability of 4-star weapons is 6%, and here too, the chance of obtaining one of the 5 event weapons on the first attempt is 75%. The second draw of a 4-star weapon will guarantee an event weapon if the first attempt didn’t succeed.
Currently, you still have the chance until December 1 to obtain the new characters Tartaglia, a member of the Fatui and a dangerous boss enemy as well as Diona, an ice archer.
