The current leaks from Genshin Impact seem to go back to Patch 3.1. They involve the new character Yelan and other upcoming characters. Additionally, there is supposed to be a specific release patch introducing the Dendro element and the area of Sumeru into the game. MeinMMO reveals what the leakers report.
First a note: Leaks can always turn out to be false. Furthermore, they may differ significantly from the official release. Please read this information with caution. If anyone does not want spoilers, they should not scroll further.
Update from February 28: Several sources report that the character Heizou wields the Anemo element (via reddit).
How long is the current patch series expected to last? Data extraction revealed that Patch 2.8 is supposed to be the last of the 2.X series. After that, it will probably proceed with 3.0 and higher (via reddit).
Since the Great Divide is supposed to be introduced in Patch 2.6 in Genshin Impact, it is likely that with 3.0, Sumeru will be introduced as a new large area in the game. The Great Divide is supposed to be the link between the current areas and Sumeru.
In addition, Sumeru brings not only a huge new explorable area but also the new Dendro element.
What do leaks say about the new Dendro element?
According to the leaker Project Celestia, code names for new elemental reactions have already appeared in the 2.4 beta: “Overgrown” and “Intensified” (via Twitter). Since Dendro is based on a plant element, it is likely that the reactions belong to the Dendro element.
Additionally, there is a reddit post that has already been deemed questionable by its creator, yet such posts have often turned out to be true in the past, which is why we want to share the information with you:
- Dendro cannot be swirled.
- Dendro and Electro are supposed to reduce enemies’ defense together.
- The element is meant to help boost elemental mastery.
- Dendro enemies are always affected by the Dendro element and react with Hydro as the highest priority.
- Dendro and Hydro interact such that the Hydro application is removed afterward. So, freezing is not supposed to be possible.
- Pyro on Dendro causes a burn that continuously damages the enemy.
Yelan and other new characters leaked
What does Yelan look like? Yelan (via reddit) and her signature weapon “Kirin” bow (via reddit) have already been leaked. According to reports, she is supposed to be a 5-star character and wield the Hydro element.

This information confirms a leak that was previously also deemed very questionable (via reddit). According to this reddit post and the leaker UBatcha, Yelan and the new 4-star character named Shinobu are supposed to receive a banner in Patch 2.7 (via Twitter). So far, however, there is no further information about Shinobu’s appearance.
All that is known is that she is the sidekick of Arataki Itto and the delegate of the Arataki Gang. Shinobu ensures that Itto and his gang do not end up in prison.
Which characters are still mentioned? Many fans are still waiting for the reliable detective from Inazuma: Heizou. He works for Sara Kujou and seems to be someone who is hard to get along with. Furthermore, he is supposed to look quite young and is said to be shorter than Xiao (via reddit), however, no image of him has been leaked yet.
According to Ubatcha, he may come in Patch 2.8 and is supposed to be a 4-star character (via Twitter). This was also confirmed by Uncle DD, who announced a male character for 2.8 or 3.0 (via reddit).
Additionally, a small Dendro girl is supposed to come to Genshin Impact as soon as Patch 3.1 is released. Many speculate that it could be Yaoyao, who has been part of the leaks since Patch 1.4. The Dendro element can even be seen on the basket on her back in the tweet.
What other leaks are there?
According to Uncle DD’s leak, the archipelago is supposed to return in Patch 2.8. Last, the secret islands could be visited in Patch 1.6, which featured a variety of events and exploration opportunities.
Furthermore, Diluc and Fischl are each expected to receive a skin (via reddit). However, when that will happen has not yet been announced.
Finally, we would like to remind you of the leak from UBatcha, who stated that a feature is to be implemented in mid-2022 that allows players to obtain weapons and possibly even characters from the standard banner without having to spend money: Genshin Impact supposedly brings a change to earn old characters without gacha.
