The 1.7 update is set to go live in Genshin Impact in July. It will bring three new characters from the new area Inazuma. A leak now shows some animations of Sayu and Yoimiya.
This is the 1.7 update: While many Genshin fans are still engaged with the 1.6 update, the next 1.7 update is already on the horizon. It is suspected that this will revolve around the journey to the new area Inazuma. After all, new characters will be introduced through wishes, all of which are from Inazuma.
Now videos of these new characters Sayu and Yoimiya have surfaced on Twitter from the known leaker Dimbreath. They show some of their animations as well as the constellations. We have also listed for you what the characters can do and what talents they have.
New Character Sayu
- Rarity: 4 stars
- Element: Anemo
- Weapon: Claymore
This is what Sayu can do: With her normal attack, Sayu performs up to 4 strikes with her sword. When charged, she swings the sword in a circle, consuming stamina. In her plunge attack, she dives down and deals area damage to all enemies in range.
Her E-skill transforms Sayu into a Fufu Windwheel that can charge into enemies at high speed. It deals Anemo damage. When the button is held down, Sayu can roll freely around in that state. You control the direction of the roll.
When Sayu in this form comes into contact with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro elements, she will deal additional elemental damage accordingly. The duration of the ability is a maximum of 10 seconds but can be ended earlier by using the Finisher Fufu Whirlwind Kick.
Sayu’s ultimate ability is Yoohoo Art: Mujina Madness. With it, she summons a Muji-Muji Daruma that helps her clear the battlefield. The Daruma directly attacks enemies and can heal characters nearby if their HP is below 70%.
Her passive talents are:
- Yoohoo Art: Silencer’s Secret – When Sayu is in your party, some animals and creatures will not be startled by your footsteps. You can check in the archive which creatures are affected.
- Go Find Someone Else – When Sayu triggers a Swirl, she heals all characters in the party for 300 HP. For every point she has in Elemental Mastery, she will heal an additional 1.2 HP. The effect can be triggered every 2 seconds.
- I Don’t Wanna Work – Sayu’s Muji-Muji Daruma gains the following effects: Area attacks become larger. When a character is healed, characters nearby are also healed by 20% of their HP.

New Character Yoimiya
- Rarity: 5 stars
- Element: Pyro
- Weapon: Bow
This is what Yoimiya can do: Yoimiya’s normal attack performs up to 5 shots with arrows. When charged, a burning arrow is fired, dealing Pyro damage. With longer charging, it can fire up to three arrows that automatically seek nearby enemies. The plunge attack causes a rain of arrows.
Teika Fire Dance is Yoimiya’s E-skill. A ring of saltpeter appears around her. It converts all her standard attacks into Pyro damage and increases her damage. The effect lasts a maximum of 10 seconds, has an 18-second cooldown, and expires when Yoimiya leaves the battlefield.
The ultimate ability Ryukin Stonebreaker allows Yoimiya to jump into the air and shoot a burning rain of arrows down on enemies. One of the enemies hit will receive the “Ryukin Flame” effect. If this enemy is hit by standard attacks, heavy strikes, plunge attacks, elemental attacks, or special abilities from any party member, an explosion is triggered that deals Pyro damage.
If the enemy is defeated during the duration of the effect, the Ryukin Flame effect transfers to another enemy. The effect can last a maximum of 10 seconds and the explosion can be triggered every 2 seconds.
Here are also Yoimiya’s passive talents:
- Inflammable Coordination – You receive a 100% chance of refunding a portion of the required materials when crafting embellishments and landscape decorations.
- Instigator – While Teika Fire Dance is active, Yoimiya’s Pyro damage is increased by 2% with each standard attack. The effect lasts 3 seconds and can stack 10 times.
- Summer Heat – The attack power of party members increases by 10% for 15 seconds. Each additional stack of Instigator adds another 1% on top.
