A leak on reddit shows a series of screenshots of the 3D model of the Dendro city Sumeru in Genshin Impact. Allegedly, the new area is expected to come to the game quite early in 2022.
This is Sumeru: As one of the seven nations of Teyvat, Sumeru worships the Dendro Archon, Lesser Lord Kusanali, who is regarded as the God of Wisdom. Kusanali is the youngest among the seven Archons and seems to be quite popular among her subordinates.
The Sumeru Academy is the most prestigious and respected institution in all of Teyvat. The students at the Academy are intensely involved in magical arts and the history of the world, and obtaining a degree can take many years and require a lot of effort.
The Mondstadt character Lisa spent some time in Sumeru in the past and was even considered the best student at the Academy. However, she eventually returned to Mondstadt because she had enough of the “completely crazy scholars” there.
This is supposedly what Sumeru looks like: In a larger leak, you can now take a look at the supposed 3D model of the city of Sumeru. The model is completely colorless and lacks many details, but it clearly shows the layout of the city and its buildings.
Individual images from the leak have been circulating in the Genshin Impact community for a while. Now you can view a total of 23 images of the 3D model from various perspectives:
The city is apparently built on a massive tree, with the buildings arranged around its roots. Sumeru is the Dendro nation and Dendro is known to be the element of plants, so such a city layout would not be surprising.
When will Sumeru be released? Allegedly, it won’t take too long before the Dendro city comes to Genshin Impact. According to the leak, it is supposed to appear in the second or third patch of 2022. The work on the city is reportedly finished now.
Since the third chapter of the Archon questline revolves around the Sumeru region, a release in early 2022 is quite realistic.
How reliable is this information? As with leaks, be cautious with this information, as it may well be incorrect. Some users on reddit pointed out that the leak Twitter account Genshin Intel has already published a very similar 3D model and labeled it as “fan art.”
However, the fan art claim is being questioned in the comments. Some suspect that it is a reenactment of the leaked content designed to avoid copyright strikes from miHoYo. The developer is currently cracking down hard on leakers.
