The new Patch 1.5 for Genshin Impact will be released in April. It has now been officially presented in a livestream. We at MeinMMO reveal what is included in the update.
What are the highlights? The new update 1.5 is packed with many contents, which we will discuss in more detail later in the article. The highlights are:
- Housing
- 2 brand new characters
- 3 new world bosses will be released
- A special update for the PS5 that enables 4K and faster loading times
In addition to these special contents, new banners, new weapons, and new events have been announced.
Those who want to experience a new act of the main story will have to wait. At the start of Patch 1.5, there will be a story quest surrounding the character Zhongli. Later, a quest related to the constellation Aphros Delos will be introduced. The main story recently received a new and very interesting act on April 12.
When will Patch 1.5 be released? The release of the new update has been announced for April 28. For us, the patch usually arrives in the early morning hours.

How Housing works in Genshin Impact
With Patch 1.5, a new quest will be introduced through which you can unlock housing. After that, you can enter your house via Serenitea Pot drinks created by Adepti from Liyue.
You can freely design your house afterward. There will be various decorations, as well as different types of houses and 3 different landscapes around:
- Floating Abode (various flying islands)
- Emerald Peak (a mountainous landscape)
- Cool Isle (an island)
In addition, a new currency – Realm Currency – will be introduced, which you can use to purchase furniture and other content in housing. If you are not interested in decorating your own homes, you can also spend Realm Currency on resin.

Can I visit my friends in their houses? No, at least not in Patch 1.5. The coop feature is expected to be implemented with the upcoming Update 1.6.
A feature to grow food around your own house is also not included in Patch 1.5 but will be part of a later update.
New Banners, Characters, and Weapons
Which new characters are coming with Patch 1.5? The first introduced character is Eula. Eula belongs to a very old noble family and is the leader of the reconnaissance unit of the Knights of Favonius.

- Element: Cryo
- Rarity: 5 stars
- Constellation: Aspergine Maris
- Normal Attack: 5-hit combo
- Elemental Attack: Cryo damage with Grimheart buff
- Elemental Burst: Glacial Illumination with AoE Cryo damage, summons a sword that deals damage

The second new character is named Yanfei. Yanfei is associated with the city of Liyue and is known there as a legal advisor.
- Weapon: Catalyst
- Element: Pyro
- Rarity: 4 stars
- Constellation: Bestia Iustitia
- Normal Attack: Fireball with Pyro damage
- Elemental Attack: Pyro damage with 3 Scarlet Seals
- Elemental Burst: Done Deal, grants 3 Scarlet Seals and the buff Brilliance

What do the new banners look like? At the start of Patch 1.5, there will first be the Zhongli banner. It will also include the new 4-star character Yanfei.
The banner with Eula, on the other hand, will come afterwards. You will have to wait 3 weeks longer for this new 5-star character.
What about new weapons and equipment? With Patch 1.5, a new 5-star weapon and new artifacts will be introduced. We have included a picture with the English information from the livestream:
New World Bosses and Events
What are these bosses? The trailer of the update already places a strong focus on the new weekly boss Azhdaha. He worships the god Jiu, who was sealed by Zhongli in the past.
Azhdaha has strong attacks, can utilize multiple elements, and change the terrain of the battlefield. He requires 60 resin to receive his rewards.
However, there are some bosses where the required resin is reduced to 30, including Stormterror, The Wolf, and Childe.

The second world boss is the Cryo Cube, which is located in Dragonspine. This will drop new materials for Eula’s ascension.
The last new boss is the Abyss Lector: Violet Lightning.
What events does Patch 1.5 bring? A total of 5 new events have been announced:
- Energy Amplifier
- Misty Dungeon
- Mimi Tomo
- Windtrace
- Another event is supposed to ensure that Talent Book Domains give double rewards for a limited time.

Genshin Impact gets a PS5 version
Another news that was published alongside the event on the PlayStation blog is the new PS5 version of Genshin Impact. This was already announced with a trailer in March, but without a release date.
Now we know that this version will be released together with Patch 1.5 on April 28. The innovations are:
- 4K Support
- Improved textures
- Faster loading times
