With Patch 2.2 of Genshin Impact, the island of Tsurumi was added to the land of Inazuma. It is shrouded in thick fog, making it difficult for you to explore Tsurumi properly. We at MeinMMO will show you how to completely banish the fog from the island.
Where is the island of Tsurumi and how do you reach it? First, you must complete the world quest “Storm Chaser of Seirai”. Once you open your map, you will see that Tsurumi is located in the southernmost part of Inazuma.
You can either sail there with your ship or take the normal route: through the quest called “A Very Special Author”. The normal route is necessary to eliminate the fog.
How do you trigger the quest line “A Very Special Author”? To start the quest line and thus end the fog, you need to go to Katheryne, who works at the Adventurers’ Guild in Inazuma. She will assign you to speak with the NPC named Sumida. After her long monologue, you need to go to Kama, who will take you to Tsurumi with his boat.
In the quest, you will be asked to pass through a gate, which will cause the fog in front of you to disappear. Thereafter, you will see a boy you must speak to. The boy will then give you the subsequent quests to gradually drive the fog from the island.
Day 1
This is the mechanism behind the fog: Every time you see a so-called nest tree and touch it, you must collect 3 feathers and bring them back to the tree. After that, the nest tree will bloom and chase the fog from the surrounding area.
Removing the fog at Shirikoro Mountain
Where is the nest tree located? The nest tree is located in the middle of the large Shirikoro Mountain. In front of the cave entrance, you will find a light blue Seelie that you can directly guide inside and lead to its pedestal.
What’s next? Speak with the boy and then touch the tree to release the 3 feathers. Once you have accompanied the 1st Seelie to its pedestal, you will see that there are still 2 pedestals waiting for their Seelies.
If you can’t see the Seelies from there, go back to the entrance and look around in the mountain from there. You should be able to spot both missing Seelies.
Once you have accompanied all 3 Seelies to their places, the water that was at the bottom of the mountain will disappear. This allows you to now access the feathers that were previously released by the tree.
Room 1 in Shirikoro Mountain – Electro Puzzle
How do you solve the Electro puzzle? Take all “Relay Stones” with you and ensure that all stationary crystals are powered. When they receive power, you can hear it by an electrifying sound.
If you have done everything correctly, a chest will appear and the cube that allows you to open the door will be released.
Room 2 in Shirikoro Mountain – Electro Puzzle
How do you solve the puzzles in Room 2? Again, the water must be drained using the 3 Seelies to solve the Electro puzzle that opens the door for you. After that, you can go down one level to collect all the Relay Stones and place them in the correct spot.
Solution to the Electro puzzle
Tip: If you go directly left at the entrance of the room, there is a wall that can be destroyed. There is a necessary Seelie there.
Continue after the 2nd puzzle: Once you have completed the room, you can collect the last feather. It is advisable to follow this passage to the end so that you can establish a connection to the Chirai Shrine. The mechanics to open the door at the end lie only in this direction.
Afterward, you can return to the nest tree to place the feathers. This will clear the fog in the surrounding area.
Removing the fog of the Chirai Shrine and the Autake Plain
Where is the nest tree of the Chirai Shrine? Head north on the island, where the Chirai Shrine is located. You can make out its outlines well despite the fog. There you will find the boy who will unlock the tree for you to touch.
Where are the feathers? If you establish the tree as a reference point, the feathers are located:
- In the south
- In the southwest
- In the west
The feather in the west plays a little game and wants you to chase it. After a short tour, however, you can simply collect it. Bring the feathers back to the tree and the fog will clear.
Where is the nest tree of the Autake Plain? The nest tree is located west of Tsurumi, a bit north of the “Au” in the word “Autake” on the map view.
Where are the feathers? If you establish the tree as a reference point, the feathers are located:
- In the south
- In the west
- In the east
This time your combat skills are required: You must face the new enemies that spawn near the feathers. If you have trouble defeating them, it may help to have a healer and/or a shielder on your team. Diona, Noelle, or Zhongli are suitable candidates.
Return the feathers to the nest tree, as usual, to drive away the remaining fog from Tsurumi. After that, you will have a clear view on the map and the overworld.
Additionally, you will complete the quest “A Very Special Author” when you return to Kama and Sumida afterward.
Day 2
When you take a look at Tsurumi, you will notice that the fog has returned. There is also a new quest called “Octave of the Maushiro”. You need to go to Sumida again and speak with her. She will send you back to the island of Tsurumi, where the boy Ruu is waiting for you.
Cross the gate a second time to dispel the fog nearby and speak with Ruu. He will give you a new tool: “Extraordinary Feather”. Equip it through your inventory and then press Y when you are near an eagle.
What’s next? After a simple example from Ruu explaining how the feather works, he sends you on further quests. At some point, you will come across stones that have various symbols on them. When you hit the stones, the symbols will light up.
You must ensure that the symbols are activated in the appropriate order. To figure out this order, you need to look for an eagle that is lingering near the marked quest area. It will help you solve the puzzle.
Solution of the 1st puzzle
After that, you will go to the 2nd stone puzzle from Ruu. This time, the stones are arranged in a circle, and you can push them to their respective patterns.
Tip: First, push the stones to their correct position that are inside the circle. The ones outside can then be inserted into the circle.
Finally, head to the Autake Plain and look for the stones that you should light up. The location of the puzzle is a bit harder to figure out, as the fog here obscures your view more than in other areas. The stones are located approximately west of Kanna Mountain.
Once you arrive there, you will see 3 Seelies. You must follow them to solve the puzzle.
Once you have followed the Seelies and successfully activated the stones, you just need to talk to the NPCs, hand over the Maushiro to Sumida, and the quest “Octave of the Maushiro” will be considered complete.
Day 3
On the third day, the fog returns to Tsurumi. “The Sea of Fog and the Festival of Trees” is the name of the quest. However, this time the assignment starts with Kama, who brought you to Tsurumi on Day 1. After a longer conversation, you must return to Tsurumi and walk through the gate again to eliminate the fog nearby.
Paimon notes that Ruu is not waiting for you at the gate, and then you need to go to the location of the first nest tree.
What do you need to do? On Day 1, you needed to return the feathers to the trees and let them bloom, now your task is to break them again. While doing this, the trees scatter their power at about 50% health. They do this in the form of purple glowing Electro orbs that you can destroy most effectively with Pyro skills.
Where these Electro orbs are located is usually obvious at any time. If you ever lose track, you can use your elemental sight to find where the next orb is located. They will also be shown on your mini-map.
Tip: When you arrive at the tree in Shirikoro Mountain, the Electrogranum can help you move in the mountain. They usually lead you directly to the orbs you need to destroy. Most of the Electro orbs are located on the lowest floor of the mountain.
After destroying all the trees, you should go to the festival site and then talk to Ruu and the other NPCs. Once you have done that, you will complete the quest “The Sea of Fog and the Festival of Trees”.
We will update this guide whenever there is a new quest for you the next day.
