The popular healer Barbara remains available for free in Genshin Impact . However, you now need to complete a quest line to obtain her.
In Genshin Impact, there has been a special promotion since release where you could unlock the character Barbara if you created an account, logged in, and then reached adventure level 20 before the release of Patch 1.1. This promotion is now ending – but it is being replaced by a new promotion. Barbara will thus remain available for free.
What is changing? Although the promotion where you automatically receive Barbara at adventure level 20 is ending, a new quest will be unlocked on November 11th.
Once you have reached adventure level 18, you can accept and complete the quest “For a Dark Shadow”. At the end of the mission, you will obtain Barbara and can add her to your character team.
Double bonus for many: Players who have already snagged Barbara in the previous event will especially appreciate this. Because these players can also complete the quest line and will subsequently receive Barbara as a reward. As is customary in Genshin Impact, a duplicate of a character will then be converted into a “Stella Fortuna”. This allows you to enhance Barbara’s constellation. She then receives powerful passive effects that make her even stronger.
Why is Barbara so useful? Barbara fulfills many roles, especially for free-to-play players. On the one hand, she is a free healer who can fully heal the party repeatedly, conserving resources like food. At the same time, she possesses the Hydro element, making her excellent at destroying Pyro shields – such as the coveted boss Fluxfire Tree.
Those who did not obtain Barbara in version 1.0 need not despair. With Patch 1.1, she will continue to be available for all players.
Another heroine will also be available for free with Patch 1.1: You can snag Fischl if you play the new event.
