What kind of event is this? With the new patch 1.3, the event “Joy in Five Colors” was introduced. It involves taking pictures of specific objects using the “Fascinating Camera”.
You have time from February 3, 2021, to February 10, 2021, at 03:59 AM (server time).
Every day, you will be assigned a specific color to photograph. However, these objects (for example, in red) are randomly assigned different colors for the event. And that leads to confusion, which we want to clarify in this article.
Ji Tong and the process of “Joy in Five Colors”
What are the requirements for the event?
- You must have reached adventure level 20
- You need to complete the quest “A Special Picture” from Ji Tong
However, you do not need the classic camera. You can earn it by completing a quest with Xu in Liyue. If you have developed an interest in photography, you should do so, as the “Fascinating Camera” only allows for 10 photos.
Where can you find Ji Tong? Ji Tong is located in Liyue just below the teleportation point. He is marked with a camera symbol on the map, as long as you have reached adventure level 20.
To start the tasks, you just need to speak with the NPC. He will then hand you the item “Fascinating Camera”. You will find the camera in your inventory under “Tools” from that point on.
How does the event work? Ji Tong will now ask you daily to take photos in specific colors. On day 1, it was red. So you had to visit a location that has many red objects. You can see which color is currently active in the event window in the menu.
You can recognize a suitable subject when the focus ring, a blue circle, appears. However, it gets a bit confusing here:
- After you take a photo of the red object, it will count towards one of five colors: red, blue, yellow, brown, or purple.
- The subject color (the red object) will not correspond to the color of your photo in the end. Here, chance plays a role.
- You must collect all 5 different colors every day.
- You can take a maximum of 10 photos every day, although you can only photograph each item once (however, it is possible to photograph multiple apples on a tree, for example).
If you miss a color, there is a trick: You can trade photos with your friends. So if you happen to take several red photos, maybe someone else can help you out.
Up to 480 Primogems and other rewards
What rewards are there? If you have photographed the 5 different colors, you will receive a Joy Box from Ji Tong every day. Thus, you can get a maximum of 8 boxes if you take advantage of the event every day.
The rewards include:
- Each box guarantees 60 Primogems
- Additionally one of the following rewards: 12 Hero’s Wisdom, 24 Mystic Enhancement Ore, or 120,000 Mora
