The character Raiden Shogun from Genshin Impact is, according to sales figures, the most popular character in the entire game. However, there is one thing that the ruler and goddess of an entire nation cannot do – cook! The community finds this utterly amusing.
There is pretty much nothing that the Electro Goddess Raiden Shogun cannot do. She commands armies, rules over an entire nation, and possesses some abilities that would now be a story spoiler. But when it comes to cooking? That’s where it ends! If Raiden were a guest at the perfect celebrity dinner, it would be anything but perfect.
The Genshin Impact community laughs about this: If you stand with a character at a cooking station, you can choose from all the characters who should prepare the dish. Some of them even create special dishes with a bit of luck or can produce double the amount.
Only Raiden Shogun is unable to cook. Not at all. The game definitely knows how to prevent this because you can’t even select her for cooking. The character Hu Tao is also known as a terrible cook in Genshin Impact. But at least she can cook, albeit with the additional effect: “Has an 18% chance to additionally create the failed variant of the respective dish when perfectly preparing dishes.”
Do we want to know what Raiden Shogun prepares when she can’t even hold a spoon? Probably not…
Even Razor, a boy raised by wolves, can prepare special potato pancakes. Raiden, on the other hand, can’t even manage a simple fried egg. Maybe that’s why she reaches for sweets so often?
While all weapons carry special effect names like “Willful Arrow” or “Pure Guardian Heart,” miHoYo takes the joke even further with Raiden Shogun’s weapon. Her spear has the effect “Timeless Dream – Eternal Stove”.
The community finds it funny
The players take it calmly: They even create videos and memes that poke fun at the Electro Goddess and amuse themselves over her inability:

What’s funny about that? Xiangling is a well-known and very good cook from Liyue. She prepares all dishes with passion, and some respect her for it. It almost seems as if miHoYo has tried everything to stretch the joke as far as possible – and they succeeded. Or what do you think?
