In Genshin Impact you can now craft Condensed Resin. But how do you do that and what is the benefit? We explain it in detail.
In Genshin Impact, the first major patch 1.1 is live. It brought numerous new features and also some improvements to the resin system. A new item, “Condensed Resin,” is currently a hot topic. We will reveal how you can obtain the new resin, what you need to do for crafting, and what benefits you can derive from this mechanic.
How to find Condensed Resin? You can craft Condensed Resin yourself. However, you first need to learn a new recipe for Alchemy. You will receive it when you reach Reputation Level 3 in Liyue’s new reputation system. Then you can collect the reward from the reputation character in Liyue.
Don’t forget to open and read the recipe in your inventory afterward so that it appears in your list at the Alchemy table.
What does Condensed Resin cost? To craft Condensed Resin, you need several materials. For each unit, you must spend the following:
- 40x Original Resin
- 1x Crystal Core
- 100 Mora
Original Resin is the “energy” resource in Genshin Impact, which regenerates on its own over time. Crystal Cores, on the other hand, can be obtained from Crystalflies. Where to best farm the Crystal Cores is explained here.
By the way: When you craft Condensed Resin, this counts as “Daily Used Resin” for the Battle Pass, so you also make progress there.
What is the benefit of Condensed Resin? You can use Condensed Resin to pay costs at petrified trees (Spheres) and Elemental Bounty (Elemental Achievement). You do not need to use Original Resin, but can instead use 1x Condensed Resin.
The reward you receive in this way is then doubled. If an Elemental Bounty would normally grant you 52,000 Mora, it grants you 104,000 Mora when using Condensed Resin. Since crafting one Condensed Resin costs 40x Original Resin each time, the resin cost and reward are identical for both methods.
Nevertheless, Condensed Resin has two practical advantages for the player:
- You save time. Instead of spending 8×20 Original Resin, you can simply use 4x Condensed Resin. You will then only need to play half as many Spheres but receive the same amount of loot in half the time.
- You can save up Condensed Resin over days and use it on the day that brings you the most. As Spheres bring different rewards every day, you can always “save up” some Original Resin from Monday to Wednesday by converting it into Condensed Resin. Then, if a Sphere is particularly rewarding for your character on Thursday, you can play that Sphere multiple times to obtain coveted materials.
However: You can have a maximum of 3 Condensed Resins – after that, you must consume some before you can craft new ones.
Conclusion: Condensed Resin is more useful than it seems
In summary, while Condensed Resin is not the ultimate solution for the controversial resin system in Genshin Impact, it offers players significantly more freedom.
Do you have little time on some days and want to avoid wasting resin? Then simply convert it into Condensed Resin. This only takes a few moments and can be done in under a minute. This way, you will have more resin available on days you want to play more.
