In the RPG Genshin Impact, there is much to do, and newcomers may feel overwhelmed. We name 5 tasks you should complete every day.
Even though Genshin Impact is at its core an RPG for solo players with a small co-op component, there are some parallels to MMORPGs. For instance, it is worthwhile to complete certain tasks in Genshin Impact day by day, reminiscent of the daily grind in MMOs. However, Genshin Impact provides long-term benefits.
So here we have listed 5 things that especially newcomers (but also veterans) should accomplish every day, time permitting. These tasks help you in the long run and speed up your progress, allowing you to advance faster later.
Complete the daily commissions from the Adventurers’ Guild
Basically, the name “daily commissions” already says it all, yet it should still be mentioned. Every day, you receive a random set of 4 commissions, either in Mondstadt or in Liyue. Typically, the commissions require only a few minutes of your attention but are extremely rewarding.
Each commission grants 250 Adventure Experience, 10 Original Resin, and some Mora.
If you complete all 4 daily commissions, you can then return to the Adventurers’ Guild to claim an additional reward of 20 Original Resin and 500 Adventure XP.

Daily commissions are the fastest way to gather Adventure XP. Especially later in the game, this is important when quests are sparse, and you can only make noticeable progress through daily missions.
Spend your Original Resin
We have often reported on Original Resin. But no matter what you think of this mechanic, it is in the game and should be utilized. Original Resin is generated automatically over time, even when you are not logged into the game. You can have a maximum of 160 Resin; any additional Resin simply “expires” – you should not allow that to happen.
You can spend Resin by engaging in different activities and then claiming the rewards. Only for Resin can the rewards be collected. This resource practically limits how often you can obtain loot from certain sources. You can use Resin for the following:
- Ley Line Outcrops: These are the “clouds” on the map. The yellow clouds provide Mora, while the blue ones provide XP items for your characters. Each Ley Line Outcrop costs 20 Original Resin.
- World Bosses: The various Hypostases, Flora, and the Oceanid each cost 40 Original Resin. Since they drop good equipment and enhancement materials for your characters, you should regularly fight them and claim their treasures.
- Domains: These mini-dungeons can be found everywhere on the map. They reward you with equipment or enhancement items for weapons or talents, and each run costs 20 Original Resin.
- The big bosses: So far, there are 3 significant bosses in Genshin Impact: Stormterror, Tartaglia, and the Wolf challenge. All of these bosses can only be defeated once a week, and their treasures cost 60 Original Resin. The loot is worth this amount of Resin, so you should fight them each week.

However, keep in mind that many of these activities – especially the bosses – must be unlocked first. This happens automatically during the story. Once you have fought the bosses for the first time in the story, you can then challenge them weekly at increasing difficulty levels.
Resin can also be converted into Condensed Resin. We explain how it works here.
You can also use Resin to forge special crystals, but this is generally not recommended.
Complete the daily Battle Pass tasks
In addition to the daily missions, there are also daily tasks in the Battle Pass. This is unlocked only at Adventure Rank 20, but you should not overlook it.
Even if you are just a free-to-play player, there is a free reward path in the Battle Pass. When you reach a new level, you unlock useful rewards, such as Mora, experience points for your characters, or even Fate, which you can spend on wishes.
The daily missions are always the same:
- Log into the game.
- Mine 10 ores.
- Complete 4 daily tasks.
- Spend 150 Original Resin.
You should be able to complete the first three tasks every day without any problems, since you are completing daily missions anyway, and 10 ores can be collected “on the go”.

Just don’t forget to collect the experience points for the Battle Pass so that they are added to your progress.
Send characters on expeditions
When you are at the Adventurers’ Guild, you should also send characters on expeditions. At the beginning, you can only send 2 characters, but over time, this limit increases to 5 characters.
Characters on an expedition can still be used in combat since Patch 1.1, so you don’t have to do without them. An expedition lasts up to 20 hours, and the longer it lasts, the better the materials found. It mainly concerns resources for the blacksmith (ores) or materials for cooking. You can also send characters for Mora, but the yield is quite low – it is rarely worth it.
By the way, expeditions also continue while you are not logged into the game. So it’s worth sending out a few characters before logging out, so they will be waiting for you the next day with their rewards.
This is particularly useful if you let the characters look for ores. The ores found by your characters on expeditions also count towards the daily “Battle Pass” mission. Those who only log in and send their characters on missions can complete 2 out of 4 daily Battle Pass missions within seconds.
Collect local materials
In Genshin Impact, there is virtually endless collecting to do. Something is shining and blinking everywhere. After a short time, you feel overloaded and start leaving more and more items by the wayside.
But you shouldn’t do that. Many items that you don’t need at the beginning become very important later for upgrading characters. Items such as Dandelion Seeds or Philanemo Mushrooms should be collected whenever you see them.
The extra steps are worth it; otherwise, you will be slowed down later. At higher levels, characters may require 60 units of a plant or a special ore. Since these special plants and ores often have a respawn time of several days, farming can become frustrating.
It is worth occasionally taking a detour to collect materials and have a well-stocked inventory in advance. Your characters will thank you during the next upgrade.
Many local materials can be found in the same places. Philanemo Mushrooms grow primarily in front of houses in Mondstadt, while Silk Flowers can only be found in the villages of Liyue, or Wolfhooks only near Wolfenlauf. It’s worth checking these areas every few days.
By the way, you also fulfill one of the weekly Battle Pass tasks by collecting 100 specialties from Liyue or Mondstadt. So it pays off doubly.
If you keep these 5 tips in mind, you should have no problems in Genshin Impact for the foreseeable future and easily reach high Adventure Ranks of 45 or more without encountering a special blockage in leveling your characters.
