On January 19, 2024, there was a big livestream in Genshin Impact showcasing the upcoming game content.
The new version 4.4 carries the motto “Vibrant Harriers Aloft in Spring Breeze”. In German, it is called “Drachenpracht in der Frühlingsbrise”. It will be available in Genshin Impact starting January 31, 2024.
In the new version 4.4, players can expect:
- 2 new playable characters
- 3 rerun banners
- new area in Liyue
- new boss
- 3 new outfits
- Lantern Rite
- and more

These are the new banners in version 4.4 featuring Xianyun/Cloud Retainer and Gaming
Who are the new characters? Xianyun aka Cloud Retainer is an Adeptus who players already met in Liyue as a talking bird. Now, her more human form will be playable as a 5-star character. She belongs to the Anemo element and fights with a catalyst.
Gaming is a Wushou dancer who fights with a greatsword and the Pyro element. He is a 4-star character.
Which banners will there be in version 4.4? As usual, the banners will appear in 2 phases.
In the first phase, the banners for these 5-star characters will run:
- Xianyun (Anemo and catalyst)
- Nahida (Dendro and catalyst)
You can also get the new character Gaming (Pyro and greatsword) as a 4-star character from the banners of phase 1.

What else will there be in version 4.4? Besides the characters, version 4.4 will introduce a new area in Liyue. It is called Chenyu Valley and represents a foggy mountainous landscape with waterfalls. Additionally, a new feline-like boss named Solitary Suanni will await you.
The annual Lantern Rite will take place in version 4.4. In various events, you can earn rewards like Primogems. Additionally, you can choose a 4-star character from Liyue for free, including the new character Gaming.
3 characters will also receive alternative outfits: Ganyu, Shenhe, and Xingqiu. The last one can also be earned as part of the Lantern Rite. Moreover, the event will also grant you intertwined fate.
