The update 1.4 brings, among other things, Rosaria to Genshin Impact, which could be interesting for free-to-play players. Learn everything about the new 4-star character here.
Who is Rosaria? Sister Rosaria was introduced in Genshin Impact during the story quests surrounding Albedo. She is a nun who belongs to the Church of Favonius, making her a servant of the Anemo Archon Barbatos.
However, Rosaria is anything but a “typical” kind nun and is almost the exact opposite of Barbara. She is cold, distant, and often skips choir practice with the other nuns because she finds it boring.
Yet, even though she seems to neglect her church duties, Rosaria has made it her mission to protect Mondstadt. She ensures that the townspeople can sleep peacefully at night.
The banner for Rosaria also brings the 5-star character Childe and starts on April 7.
Rosaria – A strong 4-star character?
This is what Rosaria can do:
- Rarity: 4 stars
- Weapon: Polearm
- Element: Cryo
- Constellation: Spinea Corona
Rosaria can execute a normal 5-hit combo with her polearm, where 2 of her hits strike twice each.
Rosaria’s special attack deals Cryo damage and teleports her behind her enemies. At higher levels, the skill also grants a 12% higher critical hit chance for 5 seconds.
For her ultimate ability, Rosaria swings her weapon and subsequently drops an ice spear from the sky that deals Cryo damage. The lance remains on the battlefield and continues to pulse additional Cryo damage to all nearby enemies.
You can watch gameplay of Rosaria here:
That’s why Rosaria is interesting for free-to-play players: Rosaria’s rarity is 4 stars, which automatically increases the likelihood of obtaining her. The chance is 5.1%. Players who do not spend money in Genshin Impact thus have better chances of acquiring her.
Additionally, she comes in the banner together with the 5-star character Childe, who is considered a strong Hydro DPS character and has the ability to switch between bows and daggers. So you have a chance to pull a strong 5-star character alongside Rosaria, even if the odds are much lower at 0.6%.
Rosaria also seems to be a strong physical DPS character. According to genshin.honeyhunterworld.com, her normal and charged physical attacks show high percentage damage increases when leveled up. Other polearm users often lie significantly below her values, with the exception of Xiao.
The normal damage is also boosted by her first constellation, which is realistic for free-to-play players as well. The constellation grants an additional 10% to attack damage and speed for 4 seconds each time Rosaria lands a critical hit.
If you have leveled up Rosaria and received the 12% crit buff, this effect will be even more amplified. It is therefore a quite cost-effective option to increase Rosaria’s damage.
It should be noted that the numbers from genshin.honeyhunterworld.com are not official from miHoYo and may change. But so far, based on this, Rosaria looks like a strong DD for free-to-play players.
These weapons you can use: In terms of weapon choice, Rosaria is also not reliant on the banner weapons. A good choice for her is the Crescent Pike, which you can forge from the following items:
- Unworked polearm of the North
- 50 crystal chunks
- 50 white iron chunks
The Dragonspine Spear is also an option for Rosaria and can be forged easily. Therefore, you don’t have to spend Primogems on weapon banners to get a good weapon for Rosaria.
Why you should still wait a bit
Even though the upcoming banners with Rosaria and Childe, as well as with Venti, seem tempting, it is advisable to wait a bit before spending your Primogems.
This is partly due to data mining. The new information that players extract from the Genshin Impact code comes some time after the release of patches. They often bring exciting information about upcoming characters, weapons, and events.
Since the banners for Venti and Childe/Rosaria each last 3 weeks, you can take your time and wait for new information regarding leaks and data mining.
The Genshin community has been speculating for some time that the new city Inazuma could come in patches 1.5 or 1.6, along with a range of new characters.
Players interested in the Inazuma characters should therefore wait to see if there is soon new information and then decide whether to resist the temptation and save their Primogems for future patches.
Why you shouldn’t pull for Rosaria: Even though Rosaria seems like a good DD option for free-to-play players, you should decide for or against her banner based on your situation.
One such situation would be if you are very close to the pity mechanic triggering. That is, if you have already pulled nearly 90 times and your chance of getting a 5-star character is about to reach 100%.
Then the upcoming Venti banner is a good chance to obtain this extremely strong character if you don’t have him yet.
Another situation would be if you currently have a good team composition that does not suit a Cryo DPS or you already have a stronger physical Cryo DPS in whom you have invested a lot of resources.
Are you interested in Rosaria? What do you think of the appearance and skills of the new Cryo character? Will you pull for her or spend your Primogems on someone else instead? Let us know in the comments.
