Sometimes fate just wants someone to win. Like Overwatch player Kyleelyk, who made a spectacular multikill.
Genji takes down the whole team: In a Play of the Game, Kyleelyk can be seen as Genji single-handedly eliminating almost the entire enemy team. What’s exciting about it: He accomplished this through the ultimate of the enemy Torbjörn.
The community celebrates it
What happened? On the map Route 66, the attacking team had just moved the payload through the gate at the second point. They played with a kind of “Pirate Ship” composition, with a Bastion on the payload and shields from Reinhardt and Brigitte to protect him.
Also on the attacking team was a Torbjörn, who would later be responsible for his own team’s elimination.
Kyleelyk decided to directly attack as Genji to bypass Reinhardt’s shield and directly assault Bastion. However, he was simply killed by the overwhelming number of opponents.
Just before his death, he used his ability “Reflect” one last time. At the same moment, Torbjörn activated his new ultimate “Melted Core”, which Genji reflected and thereby eliminated the team.
How could this happen? Torbjörn got a rework, which restructured all of his abilities. In his ultimate, he no longer enhances himself and his turret, but sprays lava puddles.
These puddles are apparently considered “projectiles” and can therefore be reflected by Genji. Thus, the new Melted Core is also among the ultimates that Genji can reflect, such as:
- Hanzo’s Dragon Strike
- Zarya’s Graviton Surge
- Mei’s Blizzard
- and others.
That’s why people celebrate this: The user KirbyMatkatamiba uploaded the video of the Play of the Game on Reddit. The post has now over 400 comments.
Users celebrate the video mainly because the Play of the Game reminds them of the old “Torbjörn PotGs.” When Torbjörn played differently, there were often situations where he only received the Play of the Game through his turret.
In the video, you saw the hero either lying dead or doing nothing – similar to Genji now, who flies through the air dead and still gets the Play of the Game. User NedThomas sums it up well:
A Torb PotG that doesn’t even include Torb killing anyone. Nice.
By the way: Those who play their main more frequently statistically win more often.
