During the E3 press conference, Microsoft first unveiled Gears 5. The release and the coop mode Escape were presented. Check out the trailer here.
When is Gears 5 being released? The release date was also revealed at the conference. Gears 5 is set to be released on September 10 for Xbox One and PC.
It is also included in the Game Pass for both platforms. Game Pass owners can even start on September 6.
Escape brings coop for 3 players
This is the Escape mode: In Escape, you fight together in coop against monsters. Unlike the Horde mode, players do not need to survive, but rather escape.
- Up to three players fight side by side against nasty creatures
- As a trio, you must fight your way outside (online or locally)
- You can explore the map and unlock new areas where you find weapons and modifications
- There are 3 class-based characters with active and passive abilities
- Each class has its own skill cards and collects its own experience points.
According to IGN.com, who were able to preview the mode, Escape can be very challenging. Teamwork is said to be crucial for survival.
Unfortunately, there is no gameplay footage yet. Instead, Microsoft released a trailer showcasing many action-packed scenes.
