There are once again indications that Gearbox might announce the highly anticipated shooter Borderlands 3 at the PAX East 2019 gaming convention. However, fans shouldn’t jump for joy just yet, as there were previous instances where an announcement was expected and nothing happened.
How did this rumor come about? Gearbox itself stated via Twitter that it will be present at the PAX East 2019 gaming convention. The convention takes place from March 28 to 31 in Boston.
There, during the one-hour “Gearbox Main Theater Show,” previously unseen things are expected to be presented, including surprises. Naturally, the community immediately jumped on it and is now hoping for an announcement of Borderlands 3.

What could be shown? Gearbox is currently working on several projects. Among them could be Borderlands 3, which has not been confirmed yet. However, 400 people are working on a game that, according to Gearbox, many are waiting for.
It is quite possible that a completely different title will be presented.
Don’t get your hopes up too high
Why should fans remain skeptical? Even though the anticipation for Borderlands 3 is high, skepticism still prevails, which is something Gearbox itself has to answer for.
- Before E3 2018, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford dropped mysterious hints that suggested a reveal of Borderlands 3 at the convention. But in the end, the game was not shown.
- Also, before the Video Game Awards last December, there were tweets and hints that Borderlands 3 could be shown, which did not happen.
Accordingly, this new teaser should be taken with caution.
How are the players reacting? Discussions about this announcement are already taking place on Reddit. Many fans are getting hyped up again and hope for an announcement, while others mock it and some doubt that Borderlands 3 will be presented.
Quinnyluca writes: “Rule number 1: Don’t get your hopes up!”
In contrast, brandonmcgritle states: “This HAS to be it!”
What could Borderlands 3 be? There is much speculation about the shooter. Can it be played offline? Is Gearbox perhaps leaning more towards Destiny or The Division? How will the ratio between single-player and multiplayer turn out? Maybe we’ll learn more at the end of the month at PAX East… or maybe not.
