Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller (26) and the only 20-year-old “LetsHugo” are currently the absolute rising stars in German Twitch. Currently, the two are on vacation in Madeira. There was an accident during the stream.
Who are the two? Papaplatte is an old hand on Twitch and is one of the largest German streamers. In 2021, he even made it to 8th place worldwide.
The Luxembourg streamer LetsHugo has been active on Twitch since 2016, but only since 2023 has his channel seen rapid growth. In the past few months, he has been part of nearly every major streaming event, which further boosted his reach.
For example, he was only in March at the “No Food” challenge by Twitch streamer Trymacs and won the hearts of the viewers. Immediately afterwards, he went on a joint camper van tour with Papaplatte. Now the two are once again happily traveling together.
Viewers only want to see the clip
What kind of accident was it? In a stream from May 23, the group around Papaplatte and LetsHugo was just riding borrowed mopeds. The two streamers were sitting together on a scooter, with Papaplatte at the controls, when the accident occurred.
How did the accident happen? While turning, the 26-year-old failed to make the turn correctly, crashed into the curb, and both streamers ended up on the asphalt. An apparently uninvolved passerby rushed over immediately to check if everything was alright.
While Papaplatte quickly jumped up and explained that his gas pedal had somehow stuck, Hugo sat on the curb. Apparently, the moped had fallen on his foot during the crash.
Are both of them alright? Yes, it seems that both have gotten away with just a scare. Even the initially shaken Hugo got back on his feet after a few moments and can laugh about the incident. He briefly thought that this was it, the streamer says.
After they took a closer look at the scooter, they continued, and the remainder of the ride went without incident.
The viewers, who on average followed the stream with 20,000, had little sympathy for the streamers: They flooded the chat with “OmegaLUL”, expressing laughter, and immediately asked whether someone had made a clip of the accident (yes, someone did).
Particularly LetsHugo was indeed quite lucky to have come away unscathed. Just at the beginning of April, the then 19-year-old injured himself when he landed awkwardly while playing dodgeball. The result was a broken collarbone.
