An expert who has worked for many different gaming companies in high-ranking positions is concerned about GTA 6.
Who is it about? Gaming expert Mike Fischer mentioned in an interview with the online magazine Game World Observer why GTA 6 is keeping him up at night.
- Mike Fischer is a professor of Interactive Media at the “University of Southern California”.
- Currently, Fischer is also working as a consultant for the South Korean publisher KRAFTON (PUBG, The Callisto Protocol, Subnautica).
- In the past, Mike Fischer has worked for various major gaming companies, including Sega (Product Manager and later Vice President Entertainment Marketing), Square Enix (President & CEO), and Epic Games (Head of Publishing).
Throughout his career, Fischer has contributed to 80 games, including titles like Deus Ex, Octopath Traveler 2, and various installments of Final Fantasy (via Moby Games).
GTA 6 could consume all gamers’ time
What does Fischer say about GTA 6? Fischer states in the interview with Game World Observer that he is kept awake at night by the thought that GTA 6 could “consume” all the time and money of every player. When the action game from Rockstar Games is released, he feels that there has never been a “so big, so captivating, so incredible, so all-encompassing game” like GTA 6.
Additionally, Fischer wonders about the consequences GTA 6 will have for the competition: “I am a little concerned about what this will mean for many other AAA games in this space,” and adds, “when GTA 6 comes out, it will be a challenging disruption.”
However, Fischer also says that the release could have a positive effect on other games, as perhaps more players will purchase a PlayStation, an Xbox, or a high-end gaming PC to be able to play GTA 6.
Undoubtedly, GTA 6 will be a huge game that many people in the gaming industry are watching. As the interview with Fischer shows, not only fans of the series are looking forward to the release of the action game, but also developers and publishers of other games: GTA 6 is already causing nervousness among the competition – even though there is no release date yet
