Currently, the news about the protests in the USA under the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter is overwhelming. In a livestream with the editorial team, we want to discuss with you today at 9 PM how this topic also affects gaming websites.
What happened? On May 25, 2020, the black American George Floyd was killed by police officers during an operation in Minneapolis. (via Spiegel.de) The incident was recorded on video, and the shocking images were widely circulated afterwards.
Since then, protests and demonstrations against police violence and racism have taken place daily in numerous US cities and internationally. The BlackLivesMatter movement is making significant waves on social networks worldwide. Many politicians, celebrities, and companies have expressed their solidarity with BlackLivesMatter.
What does this have to do with gaming? More and more representatives from the video game industry are joining the expression of solidarity.

The situation in America is currently influencing our reporting. The postponements of events and announcements are part of our working environment. We notice in our communities that there is a need for discussion, and we are currently brainstorming about this.
Update 10:00 PM: The livestream has concluded. We are embedding the recording of the talk here:
Join our live talk at 9 PM about the influences of Black Lives Matter in gaming
Therefore, we have decided to hold a live talk with the editorial team today, in which we will discuss how we as editors are dealing with the situation and, of course, answer your questions.
An important note: Our discussion should not be about Black Lives Matter as a movement or the current events per se, but only about the impact of the situation on our daily work as game editors. For obvious reasons, we do not claim expertise in any area other than gaming on such a complex topic.
The talk takes place after our streaming program on Find Your Next Game.
When does the stream start? Today, on June 2, at 9 PM
