The latest Pokémon game is being released these days in Germany. At retailer GameStop, it is the biggest game of the year. It has received the most pre-orders in the last 5 years. Rather disappointing is the new Call of Duty. Usually, the franchise is a safe bet at GameStop, this time the game has “underperformed” – it fell short of expectations, it was said.
With new hardware, PS4 Pro and PSVR are strong – Nintendo is also looking good
In hardware, the PS4 Pro is doing quite well, it is launching successfully. Also, PSVR is selling strongly, it is said. The PSVR was even on the shelves for only 10 days – then it was sold out. GameStop has high hopes for the new console from Nintendo “Switch”. According to surveys, a quarter of all “Power Up” members who are aware of the console plan to purchase it. Such numbers were also reached back then with the Xbox One.
The CEO of GameStop expects to reach entirely new segments of buyers for gaming with the “Nintendo Switch”. He believes it will be a game changer. The Switch is set to be released in March 2017 and is to be a hybrid of mobile and stationary console.
