When does gamescom 2020 take place? This year, gamescom will run from Thursday, August 27, to Sunday, August 30.
The special thing about this year’s event is that gamescom 2020 will take place digitally. Already in July, the organizers announced that the big gaming spectacle due to the Corona pandemic will not take place in the large halls of the Cologne fair this year.
The good news is that your favorite publishers are still participating and offering exciting content for you. Confirmed publishers include:

When does it take place? The gamescom Studio takes place on all days of the event. Mark the following times:
- Sunday, August 30: The finale of the gamescom Studio takes place on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

What happens there? The gamescom Studio is available in both German and English versions. The German version is produced by Webedia Gaming and the English show by IGN.
Our German stream is hosted by our hosts Christian Fritz Schneider, Ann-Kathrin Kuls, Leonie Baeßler, and Sebastian Ossowski.
In the studio stream, you will find plenty of cool content. The most exciting reveals, fresh gameplay videos and walkthroughs, developer interviews, Q&A sessions, and much more about the latest computer and video games will be presented to you.
gamescom Daily Show
When does it take place? On two days, the program of the Daily Show awaits you.
- Friday, August 28: The first Daily Show starts on Friday at 8:00 PM and runs until 9:30 PM.
- Saturday, August 29: The second Daily Show starts on Saturday at 8:30 PM and ends at 10:00 PM.

What happens there? This German-speaking show is hosted by Michael Obermeier from GameStar and Lara Loft.
This format is just right for you if you could not see the shows beforehand or just want to see the most important news again. The gamescom Daily Show shows the highlights of the day and the most exciting new stories from the gaming world.
Opening Night Live
When does it take place? Opening Night Live is the opening of gamescom 2020. The pre-show started on Thursday (August 27th) at 7:30 PM German time.

The grand finale with the Best of Show – Tune in!
Best of Show on Sunday from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM: To conclude gamescom 2020, Sebastian Ossowski and the hosts Sydnee Goodman, Akeem Lawanson, and Daemon Hatfield from IGN will present the best interviews, games, segments, and moments of the week. There will also be giveaways and visits from influencers.
