Microsoft has announced the Games with Gold for February 2019. These are the free games for Xbox One and Xbox 360 that players with an active subscription can claim. This time, there are Star Wars and Assassin’s Creed. We take a look at what Metacritic has to say about the four games.
The free games for Xbox 360 in February 2019:
Assassin’s Creed Rogue – available from February 1 to February 15 on Xbox 360. The title is from 2014.
On Metacritic, Assassin’s Creed Rogue received 72%. Critics praised that Rogue gave the series a unique twist by letting players experience the other side. The game felt like the perfect conclusion for that console generation, it was said at the time. The game is an action-adventure.
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy: You can get it from February 16 to February 28.
Jedi Academy was released in 2003 and received 76% on Metacritic. It is a third-person shooter. Critics called Jedi Academy an action-packed game with a great story and intense battles. However, it is less of a shooter and more of a hack ‘n’ slash with lightsabers.
Both games can also be played on Xbox One through backward compatibility.
The free games for Xbox One in February 2019:
Bloodstained Curse of the Moon: available from February 1 to February 28 on Xbox One. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is an action-adventure in 8-bit style, inspired by titles like Castlevania.
It received 70% on Metacritic. Players were recommended it to get into games like Castlevania. It is a nostalgic trip back to old times.
Super Bomberman R, available from February 16 to March 15 on Xbox One. The game was released in June 2018.
Super Bomberman R received 63% on Metacritic for the Xbox One version.
Friendly critics said the game takes the old formula and spices it up. Negative reviews complained that it only offers uninteresting bosses and slow enemies in single-player mode – the online part of the game only works in the local network, lacking opponents in online mode.
