A few days ago, the MMORPG Black Desert Mobile was released. It could even be downloaded beforehand. However, some players did not understand this system and subsequently left a negative review.
What happened? The MMORPG Black Desert Mobile, which we had already tested for you in advance, officially released on December 11. But already two days prior, on December 9, the game could be downloaded early.
This was intended to secure a family name and create the first characters. All in preparation for the release, which is quite common practice in online games. After all, the client was almost 3 GB.
However, some users did not understand this system and subsequently left negative reviews.
Character editor alone is not the game
What did the users think? If you look at the reviews in the Play Store or the App Store, you will come across many 1-star reviews. Especially those created before December 11 complain that Black Desert Mobile is not playable at all or only contains a character editor. The note in the launcher that the release would follow and this was a pre-load did not seem to help.
Many of these reviews are quite entertaining with the knowledge that it was a planned pre-release. Here are some examples from the Play Store:
- Till Ewald: “Are you kidding me? You can download the game, create a character, but only join on December 11? Wow. The Play Store is getting more outrageous.”
- Pavlynn: “Can download the game but can’t play…”
- Crush: “Why release a game if you can’t play it?”
- Harald Krayer: “I can only get to character creation. Clicking on start adventure only opens a timer with 28:23:59 – that’s it. Downloaded about 3 GB of data for this..”
- Walter Gohlke: “Well, that was something. Game installed, downloaded an additional 2.8 GB, created a character (super extensive editor). BUT THEN… Nothing more. You are not logged into the server – and that’s it. Very disappointing.”
Players thought at times that the game was unfinished or that the character editor was the only content. So far, only a few of these reviews have been revised or adjusted.
What else was criticized? Another major point of criticism that kept coming up even before the game was released was the family name.
Many names were already taken early on, which is no surprise, as more than 4 million players preregistered for Black Desert Mobile.
This also led to a slew of 1-star reviews.
Gameplay and graphics receive praise, but there is also criticism
What are the reactions after the release? After the release, you can find many positive reviews for Black Desert Mobile in both shops. The MMO also ranks high in the game charts of the respective stores. It seems to be gaining popularity.
The graphics, gameplay, and onboarding into the game are praised. However, smaller technical shortcomings and potential Pay2Win are criticized.
