This is definitely a scam, that much Reddit is sure of. Yet he orders the suspiciously cheap graphics card. Two days later, the package arrives.

What did the gamer order? Vincenz_OB discovered a graphics card in the American Amazon shop. However, the listed price for the offered Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 Super astonished him greatly: approximately 45 euros. This number came about through a stated discount of 93 percent. Thus, the list price of 650 euros became the record-breaking bargain. “But will a GPU really arrive?” he wondered and told about his find after placing the order on Reddit.
Doubts were raised: Some announced that they would probably find a colorfully painted stone in the box. But hardly anyone really believed that Amazon would ship a GPU worth hundreds of euros for just fifty bucks. A few days later, there was a knock at his door.
An Amazon package with … something inside
What was in the Amazon package? In another Reddit thread, he reports on the contents of the Amazon delivery. And indeed: it is an RTX 4070 Super complete with the original box.
How does the community react? They are happy, but among the surprised joy, there are plenty of pouting meme-images. Some simply did not expect such luck – and are probably now feverishly searching for more mega-bargains on Amazon themselves.
Reddit user Beginning-Cow9269 cannot help but ironically insist on the scam. Unfortunately, it did not become the fancy gem promised by the community, just a top graphics card.
Is he allowed to keep the graphics card? Generally, it is understood that a purchase contract is formed between the seller and the buyer when a product is ordered, accepted, and the delivery is ultimately paid for. According to trade law experts from exali.de, Amazon would have likely had a good chance of canceling the contract under German law before shipping.
Because there was certainly an error here, resulting in a much too high discount being granted. Vincenz_OB even noticed the mistake, as his first post shows. In such cases, sellers can refuse the transaction. After shipping is completed, the situation becomes more complicated, as the ridiculously cheap item must be reclaimed. But the responsibility ultimately lies with Amazon. They would need to contact the lucky bargain hunter.
Misfortunes caused by online merchants like Amazon that take advantage of a buyer can also have a different, if not less fortunate, appearance for the customer. If more valuable items are included in a package than actually paid for, the question arises as to how to react: We discussed this with the lawyer Christian Solmecke from the law firm wbs.legal for you.
