A user buys a used RTX 2060 for 10 bucks. The community finds this odd and wishes him luck. But then the surprise comes: The cheap graphics card actually works.
Graphics cards are currently quite expensive. And with the announcement of the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090, prices haven’t necessarily dropped. The trend is rather that in the future, prices for graphics cards will significantly exceed 1,000 euros – at least, according to Nvidia.
However, with the high prices, there are also some surprises. A gamer has now bought an RTX 2060 for 10 euros. This is still a mid-range graphics card, with which you can easily play at high resolutions like WQHD and even have a few small reserves for features like ray tracing.
Scalpers are trying to earn heavily despite the high prices. But many are now left with their products, as they seem to have misjudged the prices:

What exactly did the gamer buy? In his thread on reddit, he explains that he bought an RTX 2060 for 10 US dollars (around 10 euros) at a second-hand store. He also proves this with a receipt. You can currently get an RTX 2060 for an average of around 300 euros in stores (via geizhals.de). For the Strix edition of the RTX 2060 that the user purchased, prices are generally between 500 and 600 euros.
At that price, the gamer did not have high hopes. He himself writes: “It most likely won’t work, but I’m willing to try it at this price.”
The community is surprised by the low price. Some wonder which shop would come up with the idea to sell such a graphics card for a fraction of its price. Because on eBay, you would already get more money for a used RTX 2060.

How does the story end? In another post on reddit, the buyer explains what happened to his used graphics card. He has since installed it in his system, and the RTX 2060 actually works.
However, there was one problem: the RTX 2060 was too large, so he first had to remove a fan from his system to test the graphics card.
How does the community react? They are surprised and at least a little envious of the user’s luck. Because having to spend only 10 euros for a functioning RTX 2060 is a real stroke of luck. Someone writes (via reddit.com):
A really great find. I just upgraded from exactly this card and I will sell mine for no less than 200.
Another user jokes: “I’ll give you 15 dollars. That’s a 50% profit. A pretty good deal, if you ask me.”
