A gamemaster from Blizzard’s MMORPG World of Warcraft has entered the game as a Vulpera fox, igniting speculation about whether these humanoid foxes might become a new playable race.
Will the upcoming expansion World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth bring the new Vulpera race? Dataminers found corresponding hints some time ago and fans suspect that this fox race may have a neutral alignment similar to the Pandaren. A confirmation from Blizzard is still pending, of course.
What is the fox doing in WoW?
Now there is another hint that the Vulpera could be introduced as a new playable race. The WoW gamemaster Hiddenscott entered the alpha server of the expansion as a Vulpera. He was seen in Zuldazar, the capital of the Horde, and naturally stood out. Player Nicarao took a screenshot of it and shared it on Twitter.
Now, of course, several questions arise:
- Will the Vulpera come as a new race?
- Do they belong to one of the two factions Alliance and Horde or are they neutral?
- Was this all just a joke that the GM pulled?
- What is the deal with the fox race?
Just trolling?
According to Nicarao, Hiddenscott did not use a spell or an item to transform into a Vulpera. But that doesn’t mean it couldn’t be some kind of trolling. Because gamemasters have many options to “manipulate” the game.
It is quite possible that Hiddenscott merely gave his character the appearance of a Vulpera to troll the players.
For now, WoW fans have no choice but to wait until Blizzard confirms or denies these rumors about the Vulpera in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth.
The WoW community has long speculated about the Vulpera as a new race in the MMO: And not everyone thinks the idea is great.
